Charmed Season 4 Episode 13

Comments

I spent some time on this comment... hope you read it

I love the message with paige and carolyn in this episode. People do change, like itnor not, and it’s important to acknowledge when it’s for the better. How else are they going to do better?

That's so funny you only just noticed that. It was always one of my favorite bits of dialogue, and just made perfect sense. The Seer knew what she was doing. The Source had to extract the Charmed Ones' powers from the Hollow every time before he put it back into the box, so The Source's own magic only had one place to go when they sealed the Hollow away again... by leaving behind it in the last thing it was inside of: Cole.

One of my favorite episodes of Season 4. The Source finally revealing his face and making his move, using The Hollow to steal all of their powers, Leo dying from a Darklighter, Cole dying in Phoebe's premonition, Darryl knowing something seriously bad was happening, Paige not giving up on helping an innocent even though they're all about to die, Piper fighting to keep Leo alive... Such great drama and high stakes for all of these characters we love, culminating in the defeat of the Source of All Evil. This episode introduced the strongest Power of Three spell they've ever written. It's one of my favorites because of how it is structured: "Prudence, Penelope, Patricia, Melinda, Astrid, Helena, Laura, and Grace, Halliwell Witches stand strong beside us, Vanquish this evil from time and space." It makes so much sense to not only draw from the Power of Three, but from every witch in the entire Halliwell line to vanquish The Source. The first line invokes the full names of Prue, Penny (Grams), and Patty (their mom). I think it was a great way to include Prue's power in the vanquishing of The Source, as that was her mission as well, and feels like a good bit of vengeance after the Source said "say hello to Prue for me" twice in this episode. The next line in the spell also invokes Melinda, aka Melinda Warren, the first witch in the Halliwell line. The rest are ancestors we haven't met. It was just a smart way to pull all the power they had access to in order to vanquish the Source. Or at least, to vanquish the half-face demon... This episode also introduced one of my favorite villains, The Seer. She's deliciously evil, and as the episode said, much more powerful than The Oracle.

I've only now just realised what the seer meant by "into the void" when paige asked where the sources powers went because earlier in the episode she literally mentioned the void she could feel where belthazor once was. Wow, I'm still learning stuff I've missed after years of watching this show 😄

Amazing episode, finally facing the source who has been behind the scenes since season 1, so crazy. I love how intense this episode is, you don't know what's going to happen.

The episode was epic and is always on my top 3 episodes of S4. All bets were off in this battle against the Source and this powerful and awaited enemy (first named in season 2) finally met his end. However, it seems victory came at a cost (Cole).
