Smallville Season 5 Episode 8 Reaction

Comments

Jor-El is not trying to hurt anyone, you are right about Clark resisting him at every turn. The girl in the cave was dead when he put her in there, watch the episode again. Jor-El is just trying to get Clark to learn his heritage and all the knowledge Jor-El has collected for him, so he can be better prepared to defend the world. Clark loves Jonathan, he worships him......BUT...don't EVER Fuck with his Momma!!! LOL

Still might wanna refrain from spoiling name drops. Thats a huge villian in the superman mythos. Its still a fun reveal and reaction when someone learns that or maybe pieces it together for themselves. I was wondering if Devlin would put this together on his own

Sorry don't mean to sound like a jerk Devlin, haha. Just passionate about the show and your reactions. :)

"Solitude" is one of my favorite episodes of the series; both Clark/Martha scenes are huge highlights for me. And Milton Fine's plan to release General Zod looms large for the rest of the season. I loved their Fortress fight. I also don't think it's a spoiler to say that Dr. Fine is actually Brainiac, Superman's greatest and most dangerous villain, second only to Lex Luthor. It wasn't a spoiler when we watched it in 2005 either. Everyone watching knew it was Brainiac before 5x01 even aired. It was in all the commercials and press materials and interviews and news articles that James Marsters was playing Brainiac. They wanted you to know. It actually plays better knowing he is who he is in the first eight episodes. And you're right, his defeat was too easy. He's one of the series' biggest villains. He ain't going anywhere. I am however extremely frustrated by your memory loss in regards to all the things Jor-El has done. Clark should never, EVER listen to him. It is not Clark's fault that Jor-El does awful shit just because Clark sometimes defies his bullshit and when he tries to take away everyone's free will. It's super frustrating watching you yell at Clark and defend Jor-El. I could list 20 awful things Jor-El has done right now. Here's just ONE: for God's sake, he kidnapped a human girl, held her captive for 15 years, stole her life from her, erased her memories, used her as a fake Kryptonian girl to lure Clark into the cave wall, and then he KILLED HER (and then tried to KILL JONATHAN just to make Clark go), all so he could brainwash Clark, erase all of his memories and turn him into a Kryptonian robot forever. If Martha hadn't saved Clark with Black Kryptonite, then it all would have been over. Jor-El is manipulative, awful, and basically a villain. I don't understand how you haven't seen that. Now, Jor-El has played God again, and will kill one of Clark's most important loved ones because HE deemed it the best course of action. You've probably forgotten all of the horrible shit Jor-El did in Season 2 as well. I don't know if you read these comments but you should remember the show better in regards to Jor-El AND Lex's transgressions. You're basically saying that all of the Jews are to blame for the Holocaust because they didn't follow Hitler's orders. Frustrating.
