2019-12-17 12:31:52 +0000 UTCWhat a great episode!! Michael gets his Red K moment but it's so delicious!! Michael was superb here and looking back at audio commentary it's obvious but the cast reflect on Smallville being a fantasy show it has allowed all of them play a different side to their character and how much fun that has been over the years and helped them as actors. Oh and before I forget about it , you will be asking why Lex doesn't have CCTV in the mansion for seasons to come it is hillarious looking back. It might be a plot point one season? If i wanted to play devils advocate I'd say it was for privacy lol

Due to the constant radiation from the Kryptonite, Lex develops unsightly deformities in that hand, and has to wear a black glove at all times to hide it. In the two times they've shown us the vision of President Lex Luthor in the white suit walking out into the blood rain and the sea of human skeletons, Lex is seen wearing the black glove. Go back and look if you want! The episodes are 1x06 Hourglass and 4x09 Scare.
2019-12-17 05:48:55 +0000 UTCIf you'll remember, they introduced Black Kryptonite in 4x01, when Bridgette Crosby gave a chunk of it to Martha who used it to split Clark from Kal-El long enough for Clark to take back dominance. Black K is the "splitting" Kryptonite, that separates the two sides of someone's morality, separates the Yin from the Yang. It can be synthetically created by heating up Green K, or found naturally as was the piece that the Swann Foundation had. It will come back up later in the series! This is one of the best episodes because it gives us a serious look at Lex's darkness, and as we all unfortunately know, his future. What's the most fascinating is that Clark's spirit being inside Lionel is what purified and transformed Lionel's morality, and what makes Lionel revert back into his original, villainous, dark side is Lex's inner darkness, which only exists as a result of Lionel himself. Lionel is a disease, and he basically re-infected himself by way of Lex. "We're Luthors. We're Luthors." At this point, though, I would be much more afraid of Lex than I am of Lionel.
