This video was a beast to put together, but I finally finished it! Watch me solve the 5000 Piece Pokemon puzzle here:
I loved this puzzle and I definitely think I'm going to do it again off-camera one day. Plus, now even if I don't have a chance to do another giant puzzle this year, I can still point to this video. I have so much travel coming up that I'm really not sure if I'll be able to do another giant one, but we'll play it by ear and we'll see if I have a chance to do one over the summer.
In other news, I went to a small Pairs competition in the OC the other day, and Yvonne and I won! I took a bunch of footage at that event, so I'll be editing it into an exclusive Patreon video that you can look out for in the next few days.
And also - I signed up for the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships 2024! I don't think I'll be publicizing my team for a little while in case anything comes up and we have to swap members around, but the participant list is public on the website, so it's not a huge secret.
So I'm signed up for Pairs with Tiffany, and we're also doing Pairs together at Nationals in March. This is a bit of a leap of faith for both of us, because we've still never actually done a practice puzzle together, but we get similar times in competitions and have different strengths (she's good at busy pieces and I'm good at colors and gradients). So we'll do some practice when we're in Minnesota for the Winter Carnival and I'm sure it'll be fine.
And then for Teams, EB and Michaela aren't going to Worlds this year, and Sarah committed to a different team. So I was left without a team. So I messaged a few fast people who I saw weren't signed up on the website yet. And they all said yes, so my tentative Worlds team will be...me, Tiffany, Andrea Peng, and Kelly Walter *mic drop*
I feel so lucky to have managed to assemble such an incredible team. Now I just have to plan all of the logistics of getting to and navigating Spain!
