Hi everybody. I feel like the New Year is always a bit of a slow ramp up back into my filming routine, but even though I haven't finished a main channel video yet, I'm back with a puzzle vlog for all of you. In this one, I cover some practice I did for the Winter Carnival contest, some behind the scenes of my next main channel video, and an online speed puzzle contest:
I need to make an announcement on my public social media once I'm a little closer to releasing my next video, but I've decided to forgo my Sunday video schedule. It was just too rigid and caused a lot of stress for me, so instead I'm going to experiment with releasing videos whenever they're finished, whenever that ends up being.
So I'm halfway through filming my first big video of the year, which will be the 5000 piece Pokemon puzzle. I know nothing about Pokemon, but it's a really fun image and I wanted to start off the year with a bang. I'm one sorting day and two puzzling days into it, and I'm already more than halfway done. I'm getting back to filming tomorrow, so you'll have to watch the video to find out if I manage to finish the rest all in one day.
I've also secretly been filming bits and pieces for another upcoming video, which will be a haul video filled with just A-list top-tier vintage puzzles. Since every single puzzle in it is so special, I've been opening the boxes as I get them and filming each clip individually, so there are a few more I'm still waiting on and then you can expect that video in a few weeks.
I also wanted to share that I was quoted in the Wall Street Journal in an article recommending the best puzzles for adults. They used three of my picks in the article:

While it is of course always nice to be featured, I told the journalist that there is a lot more to cover in the puzzle world beyond just recommending products. So hopefully someday there can be more articles about the puzzle community and about the resurgence of vintage puzzles and about speed puzzling, rather than just shopping listicles.
Thank you again for all of your support and I'll hopefully be back very soon with the finished Pokemon video!
