I think the reason why XJ can remove SF's mask without "loving" him back is probably bc her supreme power. She can easily cut the mask in half, so her power is strong enough just to remove the mask, which confused our poor little SF. Love And Redemption is one of the very few Xianxia dramas that has such a powerful FL, and with the purest heart. ML (the weaker one haha) to me is mentally strong and has a very open mind for a stronger "wife" and has been guiding her and supporting her until the end. That's why I love this drama a lot. And not to mention, CY...with his eyes expressing all kind of emotion perfectly.
