I know everyone is mad that Rome stepped in, but HE needs to. If she kills another canine, it will be super bad for their tribe. If anything, I’m glad he’s there for her, he keeps her level headed and helps her when she needs it.

It hit me now, what if all this racist dogs suddenly would know about fact, that their Matriarch is a wolf, and she is really WOLF, not crossbreed like Akiulfrs.
For years they obey orders from the one, who they hate.
Their lives would be over.

I think that the dogs of Aedra have a fear of the Wolf species, and take it out witj anger and disgust because they’re set on the thought of an experience that had happened years prior. It’s hard to trust in a place like Aedra. What’s here to kill you? What’s here to trick you? What’s here to actually be your ally? Who is good and who is bad? There’s monsters around every corner and sneaky gods and spirits. And perhaps, if their encounter with any prior wolves were of that like Earth had with the Shield Wolves and they haven’t been able to have an actual interaction since then, perhaps that is why they are so quick to judge. It’s wrong to judge that quickly, but I don’t think it’s a simple case of every dog is a judgmental cocky bastard. I believe there’s a big reason why these dogs react the way they do. It makes me cringe, I’m not agreeing with it, but rather seeing it as “oh there’s a reason for this”. I just hope it gets better because we know the wolves aren’t bad. Not all of them at least.

Refreshing page for one once! To have a female be the aggressor in this case. Rome did surprisingly not too terribly either. Also, since Thakir seems to be more a priest guy in this case does he do counseling for the previous tribe? Priests often do counseling/therapy for people in real life. If this can be shown, the therapy part of Rome being advised on his abuse (from previous tribe) by Thakir that would be a very nice side of the story too. Instead of always having a relationships fix the undermining issues of abuse.

no they were attack it was the right amount of hostility. they need to know that a fight would be costly.

i agree with everything but the dogs need to know the wolves are fair and can be reason with but they are not a bunch of push over.

Romé really is a good ally for Jahla, he balances her out. He really prevented a fight here, or at least, he made Havenreach look like a tribe that plays by the rules and can be reasoned with, no matter what the Gazal guy thinks. Jahla's aggressive behavior might have been unnecessary, but I still understand why she reacted like that. Those dogs couldn't be reasoned with, maybe they wouldn't have backed off without a fair bit of intimidation.

I really hope that Aegirr and Thakir being wimps helps their case here. Those two might go home and be like "ok im not sure what the big deal is about wolves? because like 2/3 were total scaredies"

Jesus, floppy boy, there even was a tinget meeting not too long ago that proved Jahla is a legit ally to the Matriarch... Disliking that fact is one thing but sneaking around, threatening members (not even considering what could've been their real plan here)... They really should know there would be consequences if they attacked on Havenreach land.
Would also be interesting to know if they'd do the same to the MT if they were their neighbors when they're that hostile to a whole species because a single one caused chaos not even too recently... because boy did a hell load of his own species not play by the rules. Not even just MT.
And at the same time they're like "look at them, they're such wimps". So what is it? Are they weak or a threat that needs to be dealt with? Decide please, both doesn't make sense x)
Anyway, I really like Jahla in the first panel trying to solve this in a mannered way, combined with that "I'm so tired of that shit" look.

You can practically touch the tension there. This could have gone either way and while I'm glad they could resolve it without violence, those words will leave a mark thhough..

In the 4th panel is he missing the stripe on his side or is it only one sided?
