I was just thinking this the other day as I watched another reactor watch the Stohess arc; the directionand OST all frame both Erwin's plan to capture Annie in a populated city and Armin's speech about abandoning your humanity to kill monsters as heroic and brave while on a rewatch all you can think about is the pointlessness of all the death and the further tragedies they're instigating to shaping Eren into the monster he becomes

This episode always hits. I love how aot has a way of putting proud heroic songs over things that are dark or bad. Zekes talking about sterilizing his race but its for a purpose and the music makes it seem noble

Been there brother. I work 12 hour shifts which is closer to 14 when you count commute time+getting ready for work. I fall asleep in my chair at my desk all the time. 😂

Ksaver wasn’t being manipulative there. He did care for Zeke and he was right. Had Marley found out on their own, Zeke and his entire family would’ve been kicked over the wall and turned into titans. Him turning his parents in allowed him and his grandparents to live.

I know you said last episode you wanted to get recommendations train starting now. I’d say Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is a MUST if you if you love attack on titan. It is its own unique story very separate from attack on titan but definitely tackles similar elements that you love about this show as well

there was a directorial decision in this ep which i understand and agree with but is a sad cut from the manga. The scene with Grisha yelling at Zeke at the dinner table right before the mid-card originally went 10 seconds longer and humanized Grisha a bit. Don't read below if you would consider something like that a spoiler ...... https://ww9.readsnk.com/chapter/shingeki-no-kyojin-chapter-114/ Zeke says back "Grandpa said if you hadn't gone outside the walls...." and Grisha sits back down stops shouting gets a miserable look on his face and asks "What did I do wrong? ...I just wanted to see the airship"

The parallels are great between Zeke and Eren. Both children came to the same conclusion - they need to rid the world of Titans. But the means and how they got there couldn't be more different
