Monday Update - What A Start

Wow, what an amazing start to this channel relaunch. Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has signed up so far!

I've had a lot of people say that I HAVE to continue - and trust me this is nothing to worry about! This channel is already clearly the right move for me, both creatively and professionally, and I'm loving what I'm watching. And with SO much to still discover, both in AOT and JJK, and everything beyond.

I do intend to do some on-off movies, non anime TV shows etc too. But for now it's daily uploads, focusing on AOT and JJK. When the channel hits 25k subs (looking like a few weeks if we keep a similar pace), then DEATH NOTE will return. The original 7 or 8 edited eps are still on the channel, so I'll put those back live again. Guttingly, the uncut versions of those died in the great Vimeo fire of 2021, and I don't have them any more as they were edited by a freelancer. Still, all future eps will be uncut, and the first THREE will be Patreon exclusive for the Early Access tier.

Please do leave suggestions in the comments, not only for other series to check out (it'll take time but we'll be getting to lots of different things!) but also for specifics to the channel itself, and any other content ideas you might have

THANK YOU!!

I'm glad that the support is already there and that you are enjoying it so far! Your upload pace is very good, so please don't worry about it. To your last point about suggestions...do you see yourself checking out mangas (= the comics) in the future? Typically, the seinen stories (seinen manga = more mature themes, complex story lines etc.) don't have good adapations (like Berserk, which should be familiar to you, considering its massive influence in gaming and elsewhere; also Tokyo Ghoul and others). Their anime adaptions are unfortunately often very censored or simplified for a younger audience. Also, there are tons of great japanese bands and singers that you will encounter through anime. You could check them out aswell (iconic songs like Unravel will get you an absurd amount of views too). A lot of these, like TK from Ling Tosite Sigure, LiSA, Aimer, etc. have great discographies besides anime too. I don't know if you want to keep everything anime related to this channel though. Sorry for the rambling haha.

gotta be Vinland saga or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood if you havnt seen it

Demon Slayer must be the next one to follow. And I love Vinland, but DS is just on another level.

Miguel De Sousa Coelho

Yeah I'll parrot that. Vinland Saga.

Just adding into what everyone said because it’s truly worth it, Vinland Saga >>>>

Vinland saga

Yes bro Dr stone is so peak I don’t even like science that much but it makes it so funny and enjoyable

Aidan Ross

Vinland would be fantastic fit for you. I think you'll love it

Vinland saga, you wont regret!

Vinland is a very unconventional main character arc for the setting they put you in with vikings which is what makes it so good - highly recommend! Otherwise, would suggest code geass; a bit older but a complete masterpiece set in a mecha/political/racial landscape (much better than deathnote in my opinion as the protagonists in both share similar tropes)

i think in terms of character stories vinland saga is a must watch, in terms of a great adventure hunter x hunter is one of the greatest, and then theres the unbelievable animation (despite simple storytelling) with demon slayer

Elijah Slocombe

I think you’ll enjoy Code Geass (mechs/politics), Tokyo Ghoul (thriller), and Vinland Saga (Vikings and a little more grounded and has amazing art), Cowboy Bebop (classic space opera with an amazing soundtrack that got a botched Netflix live action adaptation). Excited to see what’s next!

Jon, this has been an incredible ride so far. Thank you so much for these videos!!!!! You have done so well. Keep on enjoying!

Cudi Zoners (Adam G)

AOT is also my favorite story AOT so i'm glad you went with that first, especially now that the series is actually finally wrapping up for the final time.

Otter Mane

Great that this has sparked up a new part of the community for you Jon. I recommend Gurren Lagan, peak.

facts

Vinland Saga is definitely a great next Anime to watch if you enjoy AOT

James

I'm so glad this has started well for you Jon! Vinland saga is a good one to react to, as well as death note

Dr Stone is incredible. All about science but doesn’t bore you with it, its absolutely hilarious. Would love to see you react to it!

Vinland saga

moti

I actually played the shit out of the PS2 game of that, Victorious Boxers. I may do some on-offs of stuff like that for sure.

Jon Denton

Definitely enjoying the content, jumping to the computer everytime I get a notification lol. I dont know if others would agree, since the anime doesn't really have an ending, but I might recommend Hajime no Ippo. It's a boxing anime since you were looking for combat. Not sure how much you even like boxing but that is the best combat sport anime I've seen myself.

Omar S

there might be times when we do that with certain vids, but honestly with daily uploads it's just too much work.

Jon Denton

Might be tough. That’s also double the editing to do if he does daily uploads

James

AoT is a long series, maybe you could watch 2ep in one video?
