It will probably starts with her hitting a roadblock in her research and realizing she has to infect someone to continue her research along with her backing out of multiple perfect opportunities to infect people causing her frustration to build up until the ultimate once in a lifetime opportunity presents itself to perform research such as the opportunity to infect everyone at a remote all womens retreat or a lesbian couple moves in next to her and she breaks down and decides to compromises on her loyalty to further her own research.
