Seems like if christine forces a growth spurt, while they are not ready or cannot process the calories, her body with the help of the aliens store those calories as fat on her sides and butt

Her experience is most likely unique because the brood is rewarding her for her help by giving her the full sensation of carrying them and not diluting anything as an incentive to get her to cooperate
