Back up and running!

I've got my new computer and have everything set up, so I can get back to work. This whole thing has given me some time to really think about things, and I think I want to make some changes. Bloom War was the first project I ever really did, and I've been working on it for almost 3 years now. In that time, I've learned a whole lot and made a lot of mistakes, the biggest of which was trying to put everything into one game and making the project way too big. After all this time, I still feel like I haven't made as much progress as I would like, and the process of making it has begun to feel more and more like a chore, which has made me enjoy making it less and less. I really understand now why so many games in this genre end up getting abandoned, since the process of making a visual novel, while easy for beginners, ends up becoming more and more tedious and time consuming as it gets bigger. But after I started revisiting Unreal Engine, I really began to realize that I enjoyed it much more. So I think I'm going to start moving away from visual novels, and start working more on other kinds of games. The Slay the Spire like game I have started is something I've been wanting to work on more, but I just haven't had the time to dedicate to it. Also, the Pokemon like game that I started and released a demo for a while back is something I'd like to revisit. As for Bloom War and The Expanding Alchemist, I don't want to leave them as yet more abandoned games, so I will continue to work on them, but I'm not going to add any more routes than the ones I already have planned so I can work on wrapping up the story as best as I can. I may end up making shorter visual novels like the No Nut November one I did later down the line if there is a particular story I want to tell, since that project didn't take me very long to make. As for he next Bloom War update, I doubt I'll be able to get it done before the end of the month after this delay and with Christmas and New Years coming up, so it will probably be in January. I will also try to give you all some news soon about the Slay the Spire like game once I get the base of it done so you'll be able to see what it will be like. I apologize for all the craziness lately, and I hope you will continue to stay with me as I try some new things. Thank you all for your support!

Ok, sounds definitely interesting. I'll be sure to try out both games then once they have a more solid first build. ~~and i know where to get them~~. Definitely hoping for there to be futa growth as well then~ as that eas my favourite aspect of bloom war so far~

Yep, they will still be growth themed. The Pokemon like game will have them grow as they evolve, and the Slay the Spire like game will the character grow as she goes through the dungeon. I will give more info on it once I have more to show.

definetly dissapointing to hear but also understandable, im glad well at least get to see the end for both games and they wont just be abandoned entirely. also....slay the spire and pokemon themed games? how come i missed those entirely? idk a thing about slay the spire but the pokemon one definetly interests me a lot. are they also growth themed and such?

MangleFaz

On that note about other games. Maybe you could try a continuation of No Nut November with some more growth and CV. Or the MC’s kids of the characters.

Bloom War was the reason why I started a subscribing in the first place so I’m glad it’s not going to be trashed ☺️

I hope that you can finish one story in Bloom War and then someday do more routes for multiple endings, but I hope one of those endings end up with either Kammy or Jayne growing more.

Glad to hear that these games are not being banished to the shadow realm, and if after your done with your new games, your looking for game ideas to try you should ask everyone here for suggestions then pick which ones suit what you would like to try and go from there.

Glad everything is up and running again, honestly, I'm glad you are branching out and trying new things while still being committed to what you started, I look forward to seeing what all you create

I hope you do well in whatever you decide to do Good luck 🤞

Take a look at Nei Nalen, his game is very much like the genre you just spoke of. Personally I'd be SOOOO happy to see less visual novels and more games like that. Orachi is another example. I'd say send it

Greg

I'm glad you'll be finishing Bloom War. Kammy is one of my favorite characters of all time.
