Ch: 2 [Failed Plan]
Added 2023-07-15 20:57:40 +0000 UTCWith the guard's cooperation secured, I know I have a small window of opportunity to execute my escape plan. The clock is ticking, and every passing minute brings me closer to my impending execution. But now, I have a glimmer of hope, a chance to rewrite my destiny.
However, considering that guard's greed, there is a probability that he will sell me out. I have to be careful.
I spend the next few hours meticulously planning my escape, taking into account every possible scenario and potential pitfalls. I know that the guard's loyalty can be fragile, driven by his own desires for wealth and power. I must proceed with caution to ensure my survival.
As the darkness of night blankets the prison, I sense an air of anticipation building around me. This is the moment, the crucial window of opportunity I have been waiting for. I take a deep breath, steeling my nerves and focusing my mind on the task at hand.
The clock struck 12. It's time to pick the lock, which is easy as hell because my allies have already paid off another few guards in case that big fuck messes things up. In short, the door is open.
With the door unlocked, I step out of my dimly lit cell and move stealthily through the narrow, dimly lit corridors of the prison. The faint sound of distant footsteps echoes through the halls, a reminder of the constant vigilance required to navigate this treacherous environment.
I make my way towards the designated meeting point where the guard promised to wait for me. Every shadow, every creaking floorboard becomes a potential threat. I keep my senses sharp, relying on years of survival instincts and training to guide me through the darkness.
I just need to sneak into the guards' room and change my clothes with one of theirs.
As I approach the guards' room, I hear the faint sound of voices coming from within. I press myself against the cold, damp wall, trying to make out the words being exchanged. The guard I made the deal with is conversing with his fellow comrades, unaware of my presence.
"Aaahhh... Damn, my head..." one complained as he stumbled on the bench.
"Now, now... I told you not to smoke pots like a chimney. Those cheap shits mess up your head. Take a nap. I will cover for you," the other one said.
I take advantage of the situation, knowing that the guard's distraction provides the perfect opportunity to slip into their room unnoticed. With stealth and precision, I enter the room and quickly locate the guard's locker.
I rummage through the contents, searching for a set of clothes that will allow me to blend in with the other guards. Finally, I find a uniform that fits me reasonably well. I swiftly change into the stolen attire, discarding my prisoner garb and assuming a new identity.
Now disguised as a guard, I exit the room and cautiously make my way towards the exit. I saw the other guards all sleeping and the cameras are all turned off. That greedy gruff must have listened to my instruction and slipped sleeping pills into their food.
With the guards incapacitated and the surveillance temporarily disabled, my heart pounds in my chest as I approach the exit. This is the make-or-break moment, the point of no return. I must remain focused and composed, relying on my training and instincts to navigate this dangerous game of deception.
I quickly entered the security office near the exit and opened the electronic locked gate.
As the gate unlocks with a satisfying click, a surge of adrenaline courses through my veins. I step through the threshold, leaving the confines of the prison behind me. The cool night air greets me, carrying with it a sense of freedom and possibility.
The world outside is dark and foreboding, a reflection of the chaos and uncertainty that awaits.
I scan the surroundings, making sure there are no immediate threats lurking in the shadows. The empty road stretches out before me, leading to an uncertain future. I take a deep breath, steadying myself for what lies ahead.
According to my plan, an old truck should be parked on the other side of the road, waiting for me. It's a vehicle that will provide me with the means to escape this place and continue my quest for justice.
I cross the road cautiously, my heart pounding in my chest.
Ah! There it is, the truck that I was supposed to drive and escape. And, I can see that gruff guard sitting and smoking without a care in the world.
Behind the truck, a black sedan silently came to a stop and the door opened. This is my original plan and that truck is just a decoy and I needed a body to act as a decoy and die in my place.
I went into the sedan.
"Here you go, Boss," Adam, my trusty driver, handed me a remote.
Adam, 57 years old, is my most trusted guy in this entire rotten world. Once I saved his village during a war. Ever since then, he has been following me, saying that he will pay this debt with his entire life. Never once in his life, he has betrayed me and this guy even took bullets for me and saved my ass more than I can count on.
I give Adam a nod of gratitude, recognizing the depth of his loyalty. "Thank you, Adam. You've always been there for me."
He smiles, his weathered face filled with a mix of determination and concern. "You know I'll always have your back, Boss. Now, let's get you out of here."
I press the button on the remote after he drove a safe distance, activating the explosives strategically placed near the decoy truck. The blast fills the air with a deafening roar, drawing attention away from our escape. It's a calculated move, designed to create chaos and confusion, giving us a valuable head start.
As the dust settles, I turn to Adam. "Let's go. We have a long road ahead of us."
Adam revs the engine, and the sedan roars to life. We speed away from the prison, leaving behind the darkness and despair of that chapter in my life. Ahead lies a new chapter, one filled with danger, uncertainty, and the potential for redemption.
*Sniff* This smell! Haaa... C4 explosives in the car. So, they got his family. Fuckers are so hard-bent on killing me, I see.
"So, this is it, huh? Family?" I asked.
Adam's expression turns somber as he glances at me, his eyes filled with a mix of sorrow and determination.
"Yeah, Boss. They got my wife and kids. They threatened to end them if I didn't cooperate. I had no choice but to play along. They want me to kill you, Boss. I planted c4 explosives in the car. With a single press, it will explode with us," He replied in a shaky voice.
feel a knot tighten in my stomach as Adam's words sink in. My mind races, trying to process the gravity of the situation. The people who want me dead have stooped to a new low, using Adam's family as leverage to ensure my demise.
I take a deep breath, trying to remain composed despite the rising tension. "Adam, I'm sorry."
"Me too," As he was about to press the button, I grabbed his hand.
"Sorry, man. But the entire world is at stake. I can not die here..."
Adam fought back, "My village... My family... Please, Boss. Let it end with us."
Fuck! He is strong. But... I dislocated his elbow, "Sorry, man. If I die today, they will continue their inhumane experiments. Countless innocents will die..."
Adam cries out in pain as his elbow dislocates, his grip on the detonation button loosening. He looks at me with a mixture of anguish and betrayal.
"You... you don't understand, Boss. They will kill them. They will kill everyone if you don't die here. It's not just about the experiments anymore." He punched my nose hard with his other hand.
"Fuck!" I punched back.
The car swerves uncontrollably, the tires screeching against the asphalt as it careens off the road. The world spins in a dizzying blur as the vehicle crashes into a nearby truck filled with rods, the impact jolting us violently.
It was all blurry.
By the time I regained consciousness, pain spread through my body as I struggle to regain my bearings. Blood trickles down my face from the punch Adam landed on my nose. The situation has spiraled out of control, and now we are both trapped in this wreckage.
"Adam, we need to get out of here," I gasp, fighting through the pain. But he is no more. A metal rod is sticking out of his chest and forehead.
Shit! I looked down. My head is alright, but two rods sticking out of my chest and stomach.
I struggle to catch my breath, feeling the weight of the situation closing in on me.
I glance around, trying to assess the wreckage and my surroundings. The twisted metal and shattered glass form a morbid scene of destruction.
"So, this is it, huh? Adam?" I mumbled. There is no way to escape, I can see smoke rising from the engine.
As the smoke thickens and the scent of burning metal fills the air, I know that time is running out. My escape plan has taken an unexpected turn. I took out my phone from Adam's pocket. Luckily, he brought it with him. Then, I activated the fail-safe.
In case of my untimely death, all the evidence will go public.
"All done. Ah! Fuck! I can't feel my body," I slumped back. Too sleepy. Well, what a shitty way to go, huh?
Boooomm!!!
Darkness...
