The elegant seal of Hogwarts glistened under the soft light, captivating his gaze. He couldn't believe that this prestigious school had recognized his magical potential and extended an invitation to him.
With a deep breath, Jack carefully broke the seal and unfolded the parchment, revealing the words that would change his life forever. The letter was written in elegant calligraphy, each word exuding a sense of mystique and possibility.
"Dear Mr. Jack Thornfield,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Your exceptional magical abilities have caught our attention, and we believe that you have the potential to excel in our renowned institution.
Enclosed with this letter, you will find a list of required books and equipment for your first year. Term begins on September 1st. We eagerly await your arrival at Hogwarts, where you will embark on a journey of discovery, friendship, and magical education.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Deputy Headmistress"
Jack's heart soared with a mix of disbelief and joy. It was an opportunity he had never imagined possible, a chance to explore his magical abilities, uncover the truth about his parents, and forge his own path in the wizarding world. Hogwarts seemed like the key to unlocking the mysteries that had plagued him for so long.
Jax beamed with pride, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Congratulations, young master! Hogwarts is a place of wonder and knowledge, where you will learn and grow as a wizard. It's a tremendous honor to be accepted."
Jack's hands trembled as he carefully folded the letter, his mind swirling with a whirlwind of emotions. The weight of his decision to erase Sara's memories and his newfound acceptance to Hogwarts pressed upon him, creating a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
"Thank you, Jax," Jack said, his voice filled with gratitude. "This is an incredible opportunity, but it also means that my departure is imminent. I must make sure Sara's memories are modified before I leave."
Jax nodded understandingly, his expression filled with a mixture of pride and concern. "Indeed, young master. We must prioritize Sara's safety and well-being. Let us proceed with the plan we discussed earlier and ensure her memories are altered discreetly."
As Jack was about to put the letter back into the envelope, he noticed that there was a small mirror inside it, "A mirror!"
Jack's curiosity piqued as he examined the small mirror nestled within the envelope. It was unlike any mirror he had seen before. Its frame was adorned with intricate engravings, and the glass seemed to possess a faint shimmer. He couldn't help but wonder about its significance.
"Jax, have you seen this mirror before?" Jack asked, holding it up for the elf to inspect.
Jax's eyes widened with recognition as he peered at the mirror. "Ah, that's a Two-way mirror."
"A Two-way mirror?" Jack asked.
"Yes, young master," Jax replied, his voice filled with a mix of nostalgia and sadness. "That mirror is known as a Two-way mirror. It's a magical artifact that allows communication between two mirrors. If both mirrors are in possession of two individuals, they can see and speak to each other through the mirror, no matter the distance."
Jack's eyes widened with intrigue as he listened to Jax's explanation. The concept of a mirror that could facilitate communication across distances seemed like a remarkable tool, one that could potentially aid him in his quest for answers.
"But there was only one inside the envelope," Jack took another glance into the envelope.
Jax's eyes narrowed as he studied the contents of the envelope. "Just a second..." He flicked his finger.
Suddenly, a small slip of parchment materialized in Jax's hand. He unfolded it and read the words inscribed upon it. His eyes widened with realization.
"Young master, it seems there is a message for you regarding the mirror," Jax said, his voice tinged with excitement.
"What does it say?" Jack asked eagerly, his gaze fixed on Jax.
Jax cleared his throat and began to read aloud, "Dear Mr. Thornfield, enclosed is a Two-way mirror, a valuable magical artifact. Keep this mirror safe, as it once belonged to your parents. We believe it may be of use to you on your journey. One is for our little Sara and the other one is waiting for you at Hogwarts. Use this gift wisely. Sincerely, Albus Dumbledore."
Jack's heart skipped a beat at the mention of his parents.
"Dumbledore...?" Jack whispered, his voice filled with a mix of wonder and curiosity. "He knew my parents. He must have answers."
The connection between the mirror and his long-lost family stirred a mix of emotions within him. Holding the mirror in his hands, he felt a strange sense of connection and longing.
"Do you know him, Jax?" Jack asked.
Jax's expression turned solemn as he contemplated Jack's question. "Albus Dumbledore is a legendary wizard, the current Headmaster of Hogwarts. He is a wise and powerful figure in the wizarding world, known for his knowledge and his role in the fight against dark forces."
Jack's eyes gleamed with determination. "If he knows about my parents and has left this mirror for me, then he must hold the key to unlocking the mysteries surrounding them. I need to find him, Jax. I need to learn the truth."
Jax nodded, understanding the urgency in Jack's voice. "Finding Dumbledore won't be easy, young master. He is a highly respected and busy wizard. But as the Headmaster of Hogwarts, he should be accessible to the students. And since you have already been accepted to the school and looking at the fact that he has personally sent you the mirror..."
Jax paused for a moment, contemplating the possibilities. "I believe that once you arrive at Hogwarts..."
"He will meet me to give me the second mirror," Jack said, looking at the mirror.
"That's a possibility," Jax agreed, his voice filled with anticipation. "Given the circumstances, it's likely that Dumbledore intends to meet with you personally at Hogwarts to give you the second mirror and perhaps offer guidance or answers regarding your parents."
Jack's heart swelled with a renewed sense of purpose. The acceptance letter from Hogwarts, the memory-modifying mirror, and the mention of Dumbledore all seemed intricately connected. It was as if the path he needed to follow was being unveiled before him, leading him closer to the truth he had sought for so long.
"Wait! Then this means, we don't have to erase Sara's memories!" Jack's voice was filled with a mix of relief and excitement.
Jax's eyes widened in realization, a glimmer of hope shining in his gaze. "You're right, young master. If you have the second mirror and Sara has the first one, you can communicate with each other even when you're apart. And since Dumbledore knows Sara, then there is a possibility that she also has a gift of magic."
Jack's mind raced with the newfound possibilities. The prospect of being able to communicate with Sara through the Two-way mirror filled him with a sense of relief and hope. It meant that they could stay connected even when they were physically apart, and he wouldn't have to erase her memories of their time together.
"Won't it be great if both of us could attend Hogwarts?" Jack's voice was filled with excitement and anticipation as he imagined the possibility of both him and Sara attending Hogwarts together. The thought of sharing this magical journey with his best friend filled him with a sense of joy and companionship.
Jax's eyes twinkled with delight at Jack's words. "Indeed, young master. It would be a marvelous experience for both of you to study at Hogwarts and explore the wonders of the wizarding world together."
Jack's eyes went toward Sara, who was still sleeping, lost in her dreamland. He couldn't help but smile as he looked at Sara, her peaceful expression giving him a sense of reassurance.
"Let's tell her about it after breakfast," Jack suggested, his voice filled with excitement and anticipation.
