This release nearly ended my life

First, I'd like to start this by saying LET'S FUCKING GO!

This release did amazing. Stellar, even. As far as book 1 releases are concerned, this is one of the best this entire sphere has ever seen! To call it successful would be a minor understatement! This is a real bestseller!

That being said, it didn't go without any problems. In fact, a pretty huge problem appeared. And by all means, it's a bloody miracle that my release survived.

One of my biggest nightmares (any, generally, the biggest nightmare of any releasing author who understands how Amazon works) is the dreaded Rank Freeze TM.

ABSR (Amazon Best Seller Ranking) can freeze sometimes.

Usually, this doesn't change much of anything for anyone. But if you're releasing, this is by far the worst thing that could happen to you, sans like getting hit by a car or getting brain cancer.

Because it effectively makes your rank invisible when visibility is absolutely crucial.

This happened a week ago to Cultist of Cerebon, and it was even bad enough for me to make a whole update post.

Well, guess what?

On day 1 of my release, later in the day, the ranks froze. Usually, a bad freeze lasts like 12 hours and annihilates any releases that went out that day.

This one lasted for thirty. fucking. hours. 30. HOURS. OVER A WHOLE FUCKING DAY:

One of the worst freezes we've seen in a long time.

And of course, it just had to happen to me. As things usually do when I drop anything at all because I am cursed.

Remember the title of this post? I'm not kidding. Last night, I was up until like 6 AM, my heart POUNDING out of my chest as I kept desperately checking to see whether the ranks had unfrozen or not. My chest still hurts. I learned why "worried sick" is an oft-used phrase. I was literally worried sick. I actually got sick from how worried I was, and the trauma I lived through with Jester was not helping in the slightest.

Thankfully, due to the overwhelming support you guys have shown, the series managed to land a pretty visible spot, literally just barely as the freeze was about to hit. It was a fucking hair's breadth away from getting buried. But it wasn't buried. At Rank #3 Gamelit & LitRPG, it had more than enough visibility to ride the wave through the freeze and even crack into the store-wide top 200 bestselling books on its first day. Insane.

So know that every single one of you who contributed to this release played a part in saving it—literally. Had the initial success been any lower, it wouldn't have reached a spot visible enough to survive this storm. So thank you.

And as far as my wishes for this release are concerned, uhm. What's there left to say? This is miles ahead of anything I could even dare to hope for.

As for my Patreon supporters, sowwy for for being a little absent uwu. Given that my heart was on the verge of exploding I was a little too distracted to write to say the least. But I'm more than enthusiastic now. I'm fucking HYPED. See y'all soon. Expect a steep jump in the quality of uploads. I have no excuse not to put 110% of myself into this series now.
