Whew, what a beast of a chapter! I wonder how many parts it'll get split into on RR? I feel like the first two parts are still only like at most 1/4 of the whole. I'm sure glad I subbed here. It'd be agony waiting for this on RR.

2025-03-29 19:10:36 +0000 UTCGreat chapter. Mature thinking Freddy is a hell of a lot more badass. Kinda funny, he is a hair’s breathe from insanity and it’s the most sane he has ever been. Also maybe consider an alternative pov for the big fight. Don’t get me wrong it was cool but it was hard to grasp the scope of the destruction so it fell short of spine tingling awesome. Another thought is that maybe silver heart’s explanation of his motive could use a little build up. I get he was dying and all but it kinda fell flat. I love the angle, Columbus and the Indians and all that. But it just felt sudden and didn’t have the gravitas I think a character like silver heart’s deserves. Anyway I love the character growth and will go buy the book because of it. Thanks for the story!

I want to share the review she just gave me since she is a fellow published author. " Caught up a few days ago, Meant to respond again but have been busy. Solid so far, S1 final is still my lowest point for the series. My only other real low level negative is its kind of exhausting how much his alies get screwed over to isolate him. Like, Mark, Obvious betrayal. hasn't figured that out yet but will probably hit the MC while he's low. Sophie was my favorite specifically as she was a bit insane, thought that friendship was good for him as 'toxic' as it was. Shes brain dead now and I'm not holding out hope for her return. And its just happened so often I'm just assuming its going to keep happening to anyone he gets close to. Fully expect Thor and his random uplift to die or turn on him within the next few chapters. Makes it harder to care what happens"

It’s good to hear you also enjoy writing these longer chapters more, and ultimately that’s what matters man. When you really love writing, it shows in your work. Don’t get me wrong, I love a constant stream of new chapters as much as the next guy, but your health is above all. Never feel obligated to rush out a chapter to satisfy the masses. Definitely pre-ordering on Amazon. Can’t wait for book 4

But luckly he didn't --- Freddy killed a level 4 as a level 1, and a level 5 as a level 2, what's next? kill a level 6 as a level 3? xD --- In Freddy's fight, the most damage done to him was by himself, typical xD --- Speculation/Theorycrafting about Freddy's talent upgrade to level 3: - Possible Upgrade: Store healing for later use - Possible Upgrade: Also include "soul" level healing, but only works when killing sapient beings - Possible Upgrade: "share" healing with others, while useful, it forces freddy in a more support role. Which doesn't really fit him. And sophia already fills this role. - I don't think it'll become 10% lifesteal, because then it won't be 1% lifesteal anymore :Possible --- Speculation/Theorycrafting about Perished Water affinity: - I suspect that perished water affinity will be all about "self inflicted" damage. - Leviathan's Fury inflicts damage on Freddy, and I suspect his abilities work better if he is uses it on himself or something - I suspect that perished water's body tempering will be all about "storing" and/or "delaying" self inflicted damage. Would synergize well with a lot of Freddy's skillset. (100k wet hells, tsunami fist, leviathan's fury) - I suspect that the upgrades Insanity offered synergize well with his perished water affinity. Insanity knows how Perished affinity works, and could have taken it into account when making his offers. --- Great Ending! Note though, give Freddy the things he wants but don't go overboard. Things like "I want… family!" is great at the end of a series but if done in the middle of a series, it can turn an adventure/exploration series into a slice of life/relationship drama series :P

Because of the plot anyone who touches him activates a rage program that makes him tear people in half . Near the end of the film one of the antagonists a hit woman decides to shoot herself in the head rather than be cornered by him with the parting line “I’ve seen your work, your messy”

People who jump from burning buildings are actively suffocating and/or burning, so its more of a pain response and not a fear response. I'm not sure there are people who can *stop* themselves from jumping. For the story, autodecapitation would make more sense if the person's powers made it easy to do. Just like shooting yourself with a gun in the head.

I'm in a comfortable position right now, but I've been in a comfortable position before and then witnessed it all vanish into thin air. Why? Because the Amazon release pretty much failed. The crux of the problem is that I stub on RoyalRoad. That means leaving the site effectively forever. So any new people who come to my story will probably find the book on Amazon. If the book does badly on Amazon, there will be no people finding my story. So then I'll be forced to slowly watch myself lose patrons until the Patreon can no longer support me. Merch doesn't really sell in this sphere, sadly, trust me I know many big authors who've tried. It seems like a great idea but the market just isn't primed for it. A bad release is the start of the death of a story because it begins the slow, painful process of losing everything through attrition. And I'd much rather wrap it up before I'm forced to drop it than let it get to a point where I leave another story unfinished.

Sell merch of book covers art people make/you get made for you. Never bought one myself but the story has some great potential for a poster or displate. Obv I'm saying this with zero clue how much you're earning monthly on patreon, but if you'd be willing to end the story way earlier than planned for that reason.. other than that, the story is insanely good. Great writing and great chapter. Also, don't get me wrong, I'll preorder the bitch to support you even though I'll never even download it, just kinda disappointed in that either mindset or manipulation.

Often while a building is burning down, people will jump out the window. It's not really because they think they'll live. But since the choice is between burning to death and jumping out, might as well do it on your own terms. While this might not be a 1 to 1 comparison, Freddy was probably a rather horrifying force in this fight. But I'll give it a reread after a while and see if it sticks out or not.

Please take this feedback as the sole opinion it is: The practicalities, the decision itself, everything just didn’t make sense to me. It was a bit jarring, and took me right out of the serious fight zone of the setting. Someone peeing themselves? Sure. Shaking hands, whites of the eyes showing? Absolutely. But self-decapitation? Fuckin’ hilarious in the extreme to me. Showing up to a fight just to kill yourself is a punchline. It’s not like death by Freddy is slow. Anyways, take it or leave it, your work is fun to read. Just figured it wasn’t the ambiance/reaction you were probably aiming for.

Most patreons just do the same upload schedule as RR but advanced a few days, or upload an entire week every monday (and you still eat that massive friday cliff but earlier). The fact that you don't get cliffs here is amazing.
