Update 8/20/2019
Added 2019-08-20 16:06:00 +0000 UTCI have the laptop! Finally! Wow! Sort of good news!
So as we've been told by several people, including Patreon user Dendi, in the condition it's at, there's pretty much no use in repairing it when we could just get a new one. So, essentially, this was almost 2 months wasted for me to end back with this machine in the exact condition as it was left in.
I'm returning in 3 weeks, which is simultaneously a good amount of time and too MUCH time considering my limited capabilities.
Today I'm going to create Katie's face rig, and pose her tomorrow. At least that's the plan - the computer responds so slowly to most Blender commands that we're just gonna have to find out how I'll deal with this. My planned poses included some cloth physics and I have no idea what this laptop will think of that. Wish me luck!

Hopefully you can get back to the desktop at some point. Personally, I wouldn't spend too much time with Blender on the laptop if you have other more efficient ways to use your time. Maybe try to get some other stuff knocked out so you'll have more time to do Blender stuff later on.
