Spooktober has begun! - October Release First Preview: Mounted Skeletons Unit

Good evening guys,

Hope you are all doing great and have had a great summer. 

With the summer over and the misty autumn around the corner, you already know what time of the year is… what is coming… yes, yes… the land of the dead is upon us, Spooktober!

As you may know, Spooktober is already a tradition here in Highlands Miniatures. Since the beginning of the Patreon, every October we have created a set of undead miniatures for our Transilvanya range of miniatures to celebrate Halloween, a very special occasion for us. And this year won’t be any different! 💀🎃

We always have a great time working on Transilvanya, our undead army.

Nevertheless, we are also enjoying a lot the work we are currently doing for the Sons of Ymir, and that is why we can’t still announce a full list of miniatures coming this upcoming October 2022 Release to Highlands Miniatures, as we would like to bring many, so… stay tuned this month for all the announces! 

But one thing is for sure… the Mounted Skeleton Unit will be the first one to arrive to the battlefield! This unit is composed of:

• Four (4) Mounted Skeleton Core Miniatures
• Three (3) Mounted Skeleton Command Group
• Five (5) Undead Horses

About the Mounted Skeleton Unit

Once they were respectful and noble knights who fought for the kingdoms of men, today they come to the call to fight again for the bloody line of Transilvanya.

These knights are no longer what they were, although they are a slight mirage of the man they were. Today, they come back. Dressed with rotten tabards, already broken by the passage of time and their rusty armour they ride without mercy. These tireless warriors will become the adversary's worst nightmare.

They have returned, never to leave.

We really wanted to update our old undead cavalry at least since last year, and what a better time to do it than now. We've tried to capture the essence of old human medieval knigths who have fought many wars and perished in battle. If you take a close look at them, you will be able to identify from where the references and ideas for this unit come from. And it may or it may not be a little easter egg of something we are working on... 👀

Finally, for all our beloved friends around United Kingdom, our most sincere condolences on the death of the Queen of England, as we know for some of you it was a very beloved figure.
