Ava has become a good friend of mine, and I traveled up to Chattanooga for work, as well as to talk to her about an upcoming workshop she wants to host to help teach photographers about shooting nudes in nature. I like her. I think she cares about helping other people. She usually hosts me while I am in Chattanooga. So I stay in her spare room, a room themed as Black's manor from Harry Potter. I like the vibe. I'm a person that likes darker rooms with natural light. I find it so calming. I like Chattanooga. It always seems to be overcast there. Sometimes from all the fog, and sometimes all the tree coverage. Maybe I'd become a morning person in Chattanooga just to watch the trees breath fog over the rivers and lakes. People always ask me about this or that waterfall, but you can't throw a rock without hitting a waterfall in Chattanooga. Unlike Georgia, the water is icy blue. Sometimes clear enough to shoot under. This day we shot at the waterfall was the best. It was humid and luke warm to the touch, but it was sprinkling and overcast too. I think I look the best in overcast. My skin seems to pop pretty well with little light. The waterfall itself was cold. As usual my fingers and toes were numb part way through. Ava and I had decided to find a waterfall on a whim. We didn't know if we'd like this one or if many people would be there. It is a very short trail, but a drive through long stretches of nowhere. We stopped at a gas station on the way that didn't seem to sell anything at all... and suspiciously I wondered if it was a front. Not completely unheard of. The man at the window there was threatening and the gas dispensers were so old, they didn't look like they actually put out oil. I love how beautiful the world just is, but I could never live so far away from grocery stores and new things. As an introvert, I try to remove every obsticle between me and socialization (and a retreat from socializing).
I'll be recovering a bit from this last weekend over the next two weeks. I hardly planned any shoots, so I could focus on relaxing and preparing for my longest tour yet. I'm very nervous, but I'm so excited to be modeling again.
