No Clip, No Problem! Ethiopian Gunsmithing Solutions (Berthier) (ad-free)

While helping to unpack a new shipment of French rifles at IO Inc / Royal Tiger Imports, I came across several examples of Berthiers that were modified to not use clips. There were a couple different ways the Ethiopian gunsmiths did this, so let's have a look...

what would bubba in ethiopian be. the bubba we have at the horn of africa. wonder if those would feed, or could be reloaded, at all.

Interesting stuff. Its still a bit wild to me that you guys import stuff from Ethiopia to the US :)

Thanks for the video! I prefer these to the „yet another plastic AR clone” stuff. Have you ever been tempted to travel to Ethiopia and go looking for some friendly neighborhood blacksmith banging away at 19th century french rifles? How does the stuff get into the crates in the first place?Travelling scrap merchants? And I guess there are no „wall hangers” in Ethiopia. That would be very interesting although quite challenging, I guess.

I don't remember exactly, but a lot of the Ethiopian guns from IO do have Amharic markings; usually rack numbers or similar.

Great video. Too bad you couldn’t check the caliber on the last one.

Did any of them have any of those funky Ethiopian crests and associated markings?
