Yes! Also, some of Elena's main character traits are empathy and sensitivity. Anyone with basic compassion would be disturbed if they thought they killed someone for no reason, but things like that get to her even more, regardless of how close they were.

2025-08-18 22:58:28 +0000 UTCit might seem like aaron and elena weren’t close, but you have to remember that aaron was a pretty consistent individual in her life before katherine inhabited her body, regardless of them being “close” or not; some of her last memories was with him. and elena wasn’t “venting” to aaron. she was simply hallucinating people she knew, just as she hallucinated damon, stefan, caroline, bonnie, jeremy, etc. as well as her subconscious telling her that smth was wrong with aaron. oh, and damon did not notice it wasn’t elena lol. all he noticed was who he thought was elena, trying to get stefan to kill him with a stake. stefan is the one who technically figured it out first.
