You can get it as male or female; the male protagonist is modified to be suitable for breeding in that bad ending. You can get this scene by curing ashley, getting Detect with Julia, and bringing julia to the 21st floor of the dungeon, then exploring the dungeon with julia but no primarily offensive spellcasters in your party, and having Ashley be underleveled.
