Sorry to hear you were ill, but glad to hear you are feeling better. This is a long description for a one-page comic, but it might give you some ideas for some different things to try. I'm writing a story about three young orphans of different races, living as scavengers on a giant, disreputable space station on the edge of civilisation - a scrawny, geeky human male, a boxy, sentient robot and a space-going seahorse-like creature. All of their races are despised in this place, but they are tolerated because they are small, non-threatening, pathetic and have useful skills that help maintain the station and other people's ships on the black market. They live in the air-conditioning system and do odd jobs for food and essentials. They all want to become something else, so they are not hated, and they all want to get into 'The Black Hole', the strip club on the space station, to see why it is so popular. A traveler comes to the station and needs his ship repaired, but has no money either. He is an illegal gene-splicer - someone who illegally changes people's genetic code so they can change their identity. He changes the orphans into different types of alien strippers / exotic dancers in return for repairing his ship - a demon/succubus-type creature, a 'Metropolis'-style sex-bot, and a sexy amphibious/reptilian creature - so they can get into the strip club, but the gene-splicer secretly wants them to be his own fantasy girls. They get into the strip-club, are offered jobs as dancers, strippers, all get picked up by various alien space cowboys, enjoy the ride, and end up becoming sex workers with the gene-splicer as their pimp/sugar-Daddy. Probably too much for one page, but I hope it gives you some ideas.
