Poll results + August game plan!

So, it was kind of a close call, but in the end a clear winner emerged from the poll.

And the winner is: An Offer He Can't Refuse, yay! So that's the next canon story I'll be adding a new chapter to. That much, at least, is clear.

But that's where things start to get complicated...

As far as I'm concerned, at this point in the AOHCR series, the plot could take almost any direction, literally, which is good in terms of having options, but it's not so good when every option seems more or less equally as good as the next. To put it simply: I'm not so sure where the story should go!

The first and most obvious direction to take would be to move forward a little in time, get to the end the loooong summer after Mike's graduation, and pick the story up with Mike finally being on campus, possibly with Lyla and Lori. Or, just as plausibly, somewhere closer to home, so that Julia (and Jennifer!) can easily visit and/or he can go back for the weekends, or something along those lines. Either option offers the possibility of some 'drama', meaning that Lyla and Lori would be upset about Mike going to a college closer to home, while Julia and Jennifer would be upset if he should move far away, to the same college as his sisters.

Of course, in each of the aforementioned scenarios, there could be a buffer episode before the whole 'going away to college thing', a huge end of summer party/orgy including the whole gang for a final wild bash.

Or, and this is an idea I've been mulling over recently, there could be a 'flashback' episode, (either a daydream or a straight up story-within-the-story) focused on Julia and Jennifer in the early days of their married lives, when both their husbands were still in the picture and wild wife-swapping group sessions were the norm for the four of them.

And then there's the possibility of introducing Grandpa, aka Julia and Jennifer's dad, a character that I keep having intensely mixed feelings about, easily put into a question: should there be another male character in the story? Or should Mike remain the one and only alpha male here?

Also, and I mention this just because I'm crazy and I seem to enjoy making things more complicated for myself even (nay, especially!) when they already are plenty messy as they are, there's always the 'totally out of left field' option: Mike's ex girlfriend, Shelly, the girl whose departure launched this all smutty tale and who was neither seen nor mentioned (I think...) since the very first pages of chapter 1, suddenly comes back! Now that would be a surprise and a half, right? What the hell would happen then?!?

So yeah, as you can see, I'm not quite ready to start writing a new AOHCR chapter just yet, but I do have plenty of ideas for it! Arguably, too many...

Ultimately, I guess the wisest move here is to have a nice AOHCR-specific poll/survey so I can get a feeling of what scenario(s) you all tend to prefer. Yeah, a plot-clarifying poll is probably coming soon...
