I had Silas Ash in the studio in early June, and we shot these two images. I had actually pegged them for entry in my book, but I decided to replace them at the finish line. They felt wrong in the sequence I had placed them, but on the flip side, you get to see them here :D
It’s natural light from the windows in the control tower and a black flag providing negative fill on her right.
These were shot with a Sigma 50mm f/1.2 lens. It has an artful look, somewhat reminiscent of the Canon Dreamlens 0.95, although not as powerful. On the positive side, it features autofocus and is exceptionally sharp, even at full aperture. I'm still getting to know it, but I do like these larger-aperture lenses from Sigma.
