Here’s another shot from yesterday’s beach day shenanigans. I had all the models roll in the sand to create shots with as much texture as possible.
I’m quite fond of this one - the interplay of texture, shadows, pubic hair, and hands really works for me. It has the feel of a blown-up snapshot, but it’s obviously a bit too sharp to be truly candid.
And it reminds me about a quote I heard once from Ralph Gibson: "I never knew where my next great picture would be but I knew where to look for it: 1m in front of my lens."
The 1m makes sense in the context, but I think the main takeaway is you should try anything that intrigues you.
Maybe nothing will come from it, but you never know if you don't try it.
