2020-07-01 06:55:54 +0000 UTCThe boy in the park! Food for thought! I often see a local kid thats mid teens, and wheelchair bound. I see him at local store, and hold door foe him ect... His chair is a standard wheelchair and its clear he struggles... Today i took my boy to park to ride his bike, so we can get him off training wheels. Its a big park, and has underpasses that link the cycle routes! My boy was doing his thing, and git stuck going up an incline, i walked over and pushed him up until the ground was level... As we reached the crest, i looked back and there was this lad! Clearly struggling and in a state. I wanted to help but also was aware of how fucking patronising it would seem... So i walk behind him and was ready to grab him if he started to roll back. He pushed on and made it to top and stopped. He was dripping in sweat, and he had clearly hurt his wrist as he was holding it and sobbing! My whole heart broke for him! I caught up with him and introduced myself , explaining i had seen him from time to time... We shook hands and he told his name was sebastian, i asked why he did not have an electric chair, to ease his burden! He smiled! And what he said ill never forget!!!! “NO! If they take this away from me what will i have left?! I need this to feel alive! Ill die if they put me in one of those” He then looked at my son and asked if that was my boy!? Yes i said... Tell him to be strong! And hell make it... I said respect and we bumped fists and he set off again... Fuck me! I wont lie i wept walking back to our car. All this stress and moaning and anger im feeling for what!! Cos i cant find some work?? Few bills overdue! Sebastian 👊🏾
