I agree, it's not necessarily wrong, they just didn't translate the name from the ローマ字. It'd be like seeing Eruza or Jerāru instead of Erza or Jellal, haha Ignore the other dude, it can be difficult for translators, especially when they take a foreign name from a European language (German) to Japanese and then have to translate that back to a DIFFERENT European language (English) for English subtitle viewers 😅

The minions from Grimoire Heart that Gajeel fought- after they were defeated, they were naming all the Seven Kin of Purgatory (Ultear, Meredy, Zancrow, Kain, Capricorn, Rustyrose) and said that the 7th member is already on the island, and then the screen cut to Mest. It was never stated that Mest was the 7th member by anyone, and in reality the 7th member who was already on the island was Azuma. Also, you two have already seen Ivan before (episode 45 iirc, when he's talking to Gajeel). He does NOT look like Hades lmao, but I don't blame you for not remembering, even though Hades looks ancient himself. But yeah, it was actually foreshadowed that Mest was with the Magic Council in the beginning of the arc/episode 96(?) when they called in "Laharl and Doranbolt" to "infiltrate Fairy Tail". We already know who Laharl is so his face was shown, but the other person's face was greyed our. And guess who he looks exactly like 👀

But of course, the translator didn't know that Purehito already has a specific and established name spelling. Purehito = Precht is not gonna click easily, even for pro translators (it's a German name too, sheesh). It's something that the mangaka/manga publisher would have to point out ahead of time.

The subtitles are kinda off.also they never say mest was part of the grimore heart guild n god slayers are a thing in the series. Can’t wait for the next reaction!
