2022-07-22 22:45:03 +0000 UTCi dont think it compares that well to full metal or GoT (or even promised neverland for that matter despite it also being terrible) those were all decent shows at points but berserk 2016 is just not. if not for the fact that the story behind it is so great and carried it as much as it could, it would just be a whole disaster (which i would argue it still is) i remember watching promised neverland season 2 and it actually ruined some stuff regarding reveals that i would have loved to read for the first time. berserk 2016 def has those moments too (like at the end of conviction)

2022-07-22 20:49:10 +0000 UTCIt's the same argument of old, the Manga is always better, the same way books usually are, so anime/TV/movie adaptations tend to lack content, or merge important storylines and stuff. Thinking of GoT, the promised Neverland, the first full metal alchemist anime, etc. I try to think of it in that we're getting two different versions/universes of the same story. Specially more that everything has multiversity as their core, lol

2022-07-22 20:13:20 +0000 UTCI would argue the other way, the Manga is much better, so if you've read the Manga, it's going to disappoint you. However, if you haven't read the Manga, generally you'll just be annoyed at the inconsistency of the animation, but always intrigued to see more. Then when you read the Manga, you're pleasantly surprised at how much more and well developed content there is. I watched the first season of 2016 before I was caught on, the got caught on, and was disappointed at content skipped, but the animation didn't annoy me anymore, the second season has decent animation for the most part, and less CGI than the first one.

There's a sequel anime from 2016 with two seasons that's generally despised or not acknowledged by the Berserk community because of mixed animation quality and it skips some parts, but I think you should still watch it, it's short. But like sloid said, definitely read the Manga, it's fucking fantastic, the attention to detail on those panels is insane. The golden age arc is one of many arcs by the way, so you're in for a long ride.

2022-07-22 19:45:54 +0000 UTCAmazing reaction, berserk is one of a kind story man. sadly this is all there is when it comes to anime adaptations(DONT WATCH BERSERK 2016 itll ruin the manga for you). the Manga is def the best THING i have experienced and couldn't recommend it more. and yeah Griffith did EVERYTHING wrong.
