Dev Diary #12 - WIP: Stage Startscreen, Combos & Tutorial

Good evening to you all, or whatever time of the day you've got on your clocks right now!
This is Zanzo tuning in for a short update on my progress in the last 10 days. It has been quite a productive week and a half, so let's get to it:
- The main image of this update (you can see it above) shows a screenshot taken from the stage intro screen which you will see - you guessed it - at the beginning of each stage. It is a fun little animation with lots of moving parts that makes for smooth and cool transitions from one screen to the next. I made sure to keep it nice and short to avoid annoying wait times when retrying a stage multiple times and such.
- Combos are now mostly implemented in the game. As long as you don't miss an opportunity to collect a heart or a power up, your combo counter will grow and grant you point multipliers and reductions for your pressure bar as long as you keep it over one of these marks

You can see that the player's sphere has gotten some graphical updates and shows which combo tier you're currently in. Left to include are those neat text popup effects when you reach a combo mark:

- Right now we're also working on a short beginner tutorial to teach the basic game mechanics upon start. The "skip" button is still missing but it looks something like this:

Oh and please don't mind the blatant censoring, that's just because we're not allowed to publicly post nudity here ;)
So there's a lot happening and the patron beta release is in sight and while little bugs and tiny blemishes keep popping up here and there and need to be adressed, I still hope for it to happen this month... keep your fingers crossed, we're giving our best here =)
