I blame myself for the lack of rapport here. I took on this interview request as a chance to give exposure to the ideas I use in my teaching. I very much adapted the tone of a lecturer.

The Spine of the Night sounded EXACTLY like my kind of movie, but watching it left me feeling depressed. It was so derivative of Bakshi and Frazetta that it felt like a product of a stuck culture that's condemned to repeat the nostalgic past (mainly the 80s) over and over. New ideas please!
