Chloe, Shizu and that weird time spirit look the same and there were other hints (Rimuru had that unexplainable compulsion to give Chloe the Mask), so i always assumed that all 3 are the same person. I could also imagine that maybe they're not the same person, but that Chloe and Shizu were each other's teachers in different times... like a grown up Chloe was shizu's teacher when she was young, and chloe gave her the mask that SHE got from Rimuru, which he got from shizu, which would mean the mask has no beginning or end, like a bootstrap paradox... just a theory on my part though, not actual spoilers.
