The former had been cast in his first saeguk, where he played the leading role of a commoner named Gicheol, who is money-driven and goal-orientated, working hard to become rich despite social inequalities. The latter was an influential public figure hired to work on the fashion-side of the series, who excelled in combining traditional Korean designs with modern patterns. She had been offered the job personally, as she was best known for her high-quality, stylish hanbok designs, not knowing her high school best friend was the male lead.
One day they fell asleep on set and woke up in the Joseon Dynasty.
The actor immediately channeled Gicheol and currently navigates this new reality with unfounded confidence, wanting to become rich in Joseon (just like his character) because he quickly finds out that being perceived as lower class genuinely sucks.
The designer assists him, having opened a small hanbok retail shop. Noblewomen often frequent her store. They want to get back to modern-day Seoul as soon as possible, but they must first find the other cast members who have been scatted across the world. Once they reunite, they will be able to go home.
