Just a reminder to vote on the fan fiction contest by Sept 10th! Top 3 go to the final round of voting
Added 2025-09-08 01:03:53 +0000 UTCI did edit 450 (+200 words) but no big changes. 451 fighting will get a lot of edits to make the battle more plausible. So make comments there. Currently 500 words into writing 452 for Seraphim.
I am happy the fan ficiton contest went well this time. Taking ideas for the next fan fiction for book 6. Here are some POVs I am thinking of to offer:
1) The arrival of the First Legion on Desia. We have some names now so it could work. It is the Ninth Roman Legion that dissappeared near Stonehenge.... (maybe not Stonehenge as that is southern England and York where they disappeared is northern England)
2) Castile and company escape after the Emerperors death. There are a few details in book 5 that can be expanded upon.
3) Lepidus and Hephaestus....how did he get the knowledge of the world gates from the Titan?
4) Lesna growing up a street rat and learning magic on her own
5) Benito and Lesna's adventures in Bugbenge (I will have some info on this in a chapter when they return on the Salty Widow)
6) A heavy exposition (not a lot of dialougue) of the fall of the titans and the infighting among the giant races when the demons breeched the world gates
Word Count for submissions will be lowered to 7000 max in next submission. That is about 3 chapters to tell your tale.
Taking more suggestions. But will probably only post 5 options to keep it simple.

Actually no one is sure they were even destroyed. There’s evidence they were in what is the Netherlands in 120 CE the latest evidence they were in Britannia was 108, plus Hadrians wall didn’t begin construction until 122. They disappeared from historical records after 120 but it doesn’t mean they were destroyed. However, not being reformed after a legion’s men were retired usually only happened after long periods of warfare and a reaction in army size, which weren’t in this period, or after a shameful defeat. It is possible they faced some defeat in Brittania, but there were no records of any wars or uprisings in that period though there was lots of raiding. It is also theorized they may have been defeated in the Jewish revolt, during Trajan’s conquest of Parthia, or perhaps in an Armenian revolt. We do know they aren’t listed amongst the 33 legions in two identical lists from Septimus Severus’ reign in the early 3rd century. That’s to say, the history isn’t really there so no need to worry too much about the details of we’re just working with the premise they went missing in Brittania

2025-09-08 18:59:09 +0000 UTCDefinitely shouldn't be Stonehenge in the first one. The most likely reason why the 9th disappeared was a disaster battle/ ambush norh of Hadrian's wall, so in todays Scotland. Stonehenge was deep in Roman territory waaaay to the south
