Polling Question

I got the first twenty chapters back from the editor yesterday and just finished reviewing the suggestions. Going to edit chapter 444 now and then write chapter 445 for Seraphim this evening.
First 20 chapters of Book 5 are in the hands of the narrator! I am still probably going to rewrite chapters 311 to 317 when I get them back from the editor but publication date is getting closer.
The poll below is feedback on Book 6. It has its problems and was supposed to be titled: The Otherworlders. If you dont remember the synopsis it was:
Book 6: First half was helping the goliaths with the manticore, break was staying in Godok, then the back half was the otherworlder hunt.
I am considering breaking it up. So Book 6 would be Help the goliaths and expanding on their time in Godok, ending with the raid of the sect that forces them to flee the city.... The sect was obviously a secret enclave of the Brotherhood of Mitzra...which ties into the current book 7
Then book 7 Would be dedicated to just the otherworlders. There would be more time in Gramney after the reunion and then exoanding on the search for the otherworlders. I would probably add chapters developing the otherworlders as well. So thoughts....
I know a lot of you didnt like the otherworlder arc but it is not being deleted.
Does splitting book 6 mean the series will be 11 books instead of 10? I dont know...I may be able to squeeze the entire story arc in 10 books.

I am one of the people that realy didnot understand the shift in book 6 especially the other worlders. The first part was great and it had its own adventure which was short but great. It felt like Erik was trying to find him self something to do while knowing Relia was clearly waiting for him. The excuse and build up didn't match my expectation. This can only mean one thing, We all know you are a great writer and we expected a build up not a story change. Sorry if , I personally sounded it was an attack on your writing. I just feel you have more in you. As Constantin would have put it , " I know you can do it". 😉

2025-08-29 18:46:06 +0000 UTCMy suggestion would be to split the book. Build up Godok and add in a little more foreshadowing of the brotherhood of Mitzra. I honestly didn’t make the connection. I think the otherworlder storyline would be better received if everything after Godok was part of one book rather than hanging at the end of goliath storyline. I wasn’t too thrilled with it as it seemed like a strange side story that didn’t fit. But with the last couple of chapters, the penny dropped and it became obvious that part of the point of the storyline was to give a reason for Eryk to be at the Isle of the dead when the brotherhood of Mitzra showed up. Although that means that Godok is now the odd man out. My opinion is probably worth exactly what you paid for it.
