Inn/Tavern in Gramney
Added 2024-09-26 14:38:47 +0000 UTCnot sure how big a part this will play in the overall story but the name of Lirkin's Inn Tavern poll is below. Lirkin has "retired," in the Grand Duchy of Manch. Try to keep spoilers out of comments as the poll is open to everyone. World Sphere 199 is close....

2024-11-01 13:26:23 +0000 UTClike it, but remember, the Legionnaires were forcibly conscripted - most of them in the company anyway

2024-09-27 15:00:49 +0000 UTCgood name and might use it in the story but it doesn't fit for Lirkin

2024-09-27 14:58:51 +0000 UTCShields Rest, I take it from "When Rome fell to barbarian invaders, there were less than five hundred qualified Centurions. Not because Rome had fewer people but because it had fewer willing to make the sacrifices. And the last Centurions left their shields in the heather and took a barbarian bride . ."

2024-09-26 21:27:42 +0000 UTCI apologize for pointing it out, but i'm in the 5$ tier, if I got spoiled by this, most in the same tier probably did as well. I didn't spend an hour theorizing before writing my comment, what i wrote was pretty obvious from the post itself.

2024-09-26 20:50:47 +0000 UTCwell the company could have disbanded or Adrian could be in jail. but no, you had to go spoil it for everyone and say he is dead. and I put 'retired' in quotes so he could have finished his term of service

2024-09-26 18:25:59 +0000 UTCThere are no nursing/funeral homes in this world. Everyone works till they can’t and then the children take care of their parents by then. So they wouldn’t tie the term Rest to these concepts
Aiden Wilker
2024-09-26 18:24:12 +0000 UTC(The) Red Roost - red for the legion's armor color and roost as a play for a place to rest. Make a red griffon/gryphon (?) the animal on the sign and you have a good reference to both strength and their past without spelling it out too much

2024-09-26 16:45:36 +0000 UTCGriffwolf&lion , copied from angel's tv series law firm Wolfram & Hart Griff on front to appease the elves. Wolf to disguise the hound, and lion becouse.... dont know... Nobody is a "lion legionnaire" they all common legionnaire.

2024-09-26 16:40:01 +0000 UTC“The underdog’s embark inn” because he is thankful, and wants Eryk to know. Eryk was a hound, a pup. Even then, he was still quite new to the legion when he joined the hound. when you read the name you don’t think “hound”, but when Eryk sees it he will know. Because Castile will know. her legion has always been underdogs. Because this is where their stories really begin. And also…. Because, dogs bark. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

2024-09-26 16:26:04 +0000 UTCI was thinking soldier's/ veteran's rest. It doesn't tie them to the legion but acknowledges their past.

2024-09-26 16:10:21 +0000 UTCI agree, don't associate with being apart of the Legion when trying to hide. Also if Duke Octavian sends people after them (Based on what has happened with some others). I can see him hunting down anyone associated with the coup that he doesn't want around.
Jeff Kollada
2024-09-26 15:52:07 +0000 UTCYou said no spoilers, but you just spoiled Adrian's death in the first option (I have not read anything like that, i'm not seraph tier) by saying "was", and the name clearly being a memorial. Also, in the last option you spoil that the tavern is a meeting point for a fractured and separated company, hoping to attract the other legionaires with the name or the "retirement home" for the survivors of the company after the assassination. LMAO the writer being the one to drop the spoilers is so hilarious i can't even be mad at being spoiled.

2024-09-26 14:48:15 +0000 UTCDitto re referencing the army - will drive away anti-military and anti-empire customers. Calling anything a 'Rest' brings nursing homes, funeral homes and cemeteries to mind. How about Adrian's Tavern & Inn - the most hospitable guy and advertising both functions, tavern first as they'll sell more drinks than beds most likely, and a sign outside with a big flagon on top of a great looking bed/mattress.

2024-09-26 14:47:00 +0000 UTCHuh, you’re right. People would think it’s a necromancy place. Maybe they can name all their drinks after the nicknames of the legionnaires
Aiden Wilker
2024-09-26 14:46:01 +0000 UTCwho wants to stay at an inn called Revenants Rest though?
Erick Thiemke
2024-09-26 14:44:25 +0000 UTCI always think of a Tavern as being a "neutral" location most of the time. Even if it really isnt the owner would probably want to present it that way at least. So I'd avoid any name that seems to supports a certain group. Especially if Castille is gonna be running the "resistance/revenge" group out of there.
Glenn S
2024-09-26 14:43:12 +0000 UTCI think Revenants Rest would be good because that’s what they called Eryk when he first came back from the dead during the siege. Other options are all pretty good
Aiden Wilker
2024-09-26 14:41:21 +0000 UTCI am no fan of the name associating the army. They are emperor killing turn cloaks. Not a good idea in my book
