the healing essence boost was just three points. the "new" affinity for Earth magic came in at a 6...way back if you remember when he got his first minor agility essence they said the first time you take an essence it has a larger effect. it will read the first Physical, Mental and Magical essence you ever take has a larger effect. The Earth essence was his first magical so he got dosed hard. It is not common knowledge so no one would have told him

Three points hardly seems noticeable, if painful. Wondering if elves, dwarfs, etc have racial affinities that can be transferred via essence? Nature? Longevity?
