secret jokes on tour

Not really secret, just jokes for a very small audience.

I'm the tour manager these days for our Night Vale live shows. (This is Jeffrey btw.) Gotta get people fed, rested, and driven to where they gotta be. It's a fun job that requires a lot of patience, and a lot of coordination. One tool we use is an app called Master Tour, which keeps a calendar of what time to be where: (lobby call, tech rehearsal, load-out, lunch, pee breaks on the road, etc.)

Master Tour also has a general notes section, where I can put things like Day of Show contacts, confirmation numbers for hotel reservations, etc. But I also use the Notes section for dumb jokes, which have an audience of only the touring party. So, 6 people, basically.

Anyway, as I start preparing for our July live show tour, I'm starting to look back through the Master Tour app, and I thought I'd share the kind of dumb shit I put in there to make 5 other people (hopefully) laugh.

And here I'm remembering that we had a pretty rough time with our hotel last time we were in Cincinnati:

Honestly, I'm still mad that we have to call them Belgians.

One of my favorite things is regional pronunciations. Like Dubois, PA (pronounced with the S at the end), or Llano, TX (pronounce the Ls and use a short A). Things like that. Anyway, Britain has a bunch of these types of places.

Poor Galway. It really is a beautiful town with beautiful people. And while it's on the opposite end of the country from Dublin, that's still closer than New York to Boston.

Finally, I don't know why the fake names are so funny to me, but they are. And Jonathan New York is one of my favorites. Enjoy (or don't.. tbh some of these are really corny)
