Unexpected Staff Update

Update (02/6/25): Last week was a little busier than usual and I also got sick so my progress was slower than expected. But I still managed to keep at it and finished proofreading all 113 chapters within the time limit I set for myself while making some sacrifices.

I just started translating the first chapter of Demon Sword Maiden today, Chapter 1278 should be available now in the Google Drive, do take a look at it and let me know if the translation is satisfactory.

Update (21/5/25): According to AI, if I keep up the same pace, I just need 1 more week to finish proofreading the remaining chapters.

You have a total of 35 unmarked-priority tasks (27 in "Demon Sword Maiden" + 8 in "Reborn as a Transcendent").

If you finish 5 tasks per day:

35 tasks ÷ 5 tasks/day = 7 days

You will need 7 more days to finish all the unmarked-priority tasks at that pace.

This came out of left field, but early this morning, Keissen announced their departure from Re:Library. Citing personal reasons and a major shift in their schedule, they’re no longer able to continue translation work for Demon Sword Maiden and Reborn as a Transcendent.

While the news was sudden, I wasn’t too worried—Keissen’s departure has, in a way, nudged me back toward Plan B, something I had mostly put aside until now. It simply means I’ll have to pick up the slack and handle the translations myself.

To be honest, I’ve been worried about my financial situation and lack of job opportunities lately, so this might be a timely chance to secure around $400 a month to help with my livelihood. Moreover, I’ve already been rewriting most chapters of both series due to quality concerns, so translating them myself doesn’t feel like that big of a leap.

That said, I expect translating to take twice as long as rewriting. And I still have a significant backlog to catch up on—Demon Sword Maiden alone is behind by 85 chapters, with another 28 chapters pending from Reborn as a Transcendent. That’s easily over 100 chapters still waiting to be proofread.

So now, I’d like to ask the followers of both series:

Both options are tempting. The first would mean more immediate workload and a stricter schedule, but it could help build consistency and maintain momentum. The second would be less stressful and allow me to catch up properly, but at the cost of new content in the short term.

Let me know what you think—I’d really appreciate your input!

As an aviation reader who looks forward to RAAT. As much as option 1 would immediately be satisfying, knowing you've caught up without being stressed to the point of pulling hair would even more so. Take care of yourself and get it done quickly but not at your own detriment

Agreed concstiancy is far more important ontop of the less stress for the transition for you, overall the benefits for clearing the backlog far outweigh instant translation

Yuki Chan

Sincerely, I think cleaning the backlog first is the best for everyone.

Brandon Muro

Backlog for suuure, sucks you have to deal with that though. Hope the shift isn't too uncomfortable for you!

Fave

While skipping to the latest release is kinda tempting, I think most here would prefer slower releases in favor of clearing a backlog

Aden Howard

Clearing the backlog first will give us higher-quality material since, as you mention, you'll be working with full context. I'm definitely in favor of that.

Aoinfinity

Whatever is easier mate 😊

I would also agree on taking a hiatus to catch up on backlog just because that’d also relieve some pressure and be less stressful

Winter

Clear out the back log first i think

F Ignite

Personally I'd prefer a hiatus to catch up on the backlog.

Valkyrie

If the hiatus is only a couple weeks but sets you up better moving forward in the future to maintain quality, I'd be fine with that as a Transcendent patron personally.

Spectrum

I personally think it would be better to clear out the backlog first, even if it means a temp hiatus on both series
