May Winners! [Tie] Eridan & Shampoo.

Yeahh!! I don't even remember where but I've definitely heard that same observation in other art related sources, especially when it comes to 3D games! So yeah I think you nailed it with that observation! I'm glad you bring that up too because it's not something I had in mind at all when making the sculpt, but it makes me much more confident to continue stylizing the stuff I do! To me that look is just more interesting and charming to me. And also when I start rendering stuff I plan to use Eevee since my computer is not super capable. If the models were more realistic they would suffer a lot and would look weird, but something more stylized... should work well enough! <3 Thank you, seriously! <3 I'm so happy you liked both Shampoo Drawings!! And the Eridan model!! Yeahh I've always loved when people draw the fins as being an extension of the ear, it is also the way I prefer to draw it so I thought I'd try sculpting it like that as well! Oh..! hmm, To be honest I don't actually know if the gills are canon... but they look pretty so... Ahh for Hair challenges I don't know if I have something specific in mind, but I'd be open for most things, It's just some hairstyles I might have to simplify a lot or cheat a bit. Funny that you mention YGO, I am actually very interested in trying to make at least sculpts of some characters [like the dark magician girl, or Yami, Malik and Bakura.. maybe Mai and Otoji/Duke too.] The most difficult hairstyles would be: Short spiky anime hair. Hair that has the mickey mouse effect [hair looks the same form different angles]. Hair that isn't very well defined [Like homestuck characters where it's a black blob hard to figure out, or Deku, Nakugo] In these cases I think I'd rather avoid them for now, since they would take quite a bit of time and dedication to get right... but it also depends on each character!

Not to keep saying the same thing, but both Shampoo and Eridan came out really well! Building a little off a comment on a different post, one thing I'm finding as I pick apart different Blender models and resources is that if you make them too "lifelike" they...tend to really show their age as technology improves. However, ones that are a little less so, more "cartoony", if you will, age _way_ better. Looking at your Eridan, I feel like even if we looked at it quite a while from now, it'd look pretty solid just because the style and places you chose to detail are not dependent on tech or special effects, so they're hold up. >:]

I love both Shampoo drawings (adorable both as a mermaid and neko). I'm also really impressed with Eridan. You put a lot more detail than I thought about into his ears (both the fins and the inner part of the ears). I also completely forgot both he and Feferi had gills, so that was another great detail. For hair, is there a particular challenge you're looking for? Certain details, length, hair styles? Something crazy, like a Yugi-Oh character?
