November Update/summary.
Added 2020-12-01 01:14:17 +0000 UTCHello! I'm sorry about the lack of content this month, I haven't really done any drawing outside commissions this month [too burnt out], and I did very little cleaning up of my 2016 folders as well... not enough to share just yet.
All I can really do is give an update: I did jump back into 3D as I was starting to feel very rusty [I haven't really opened the 3D Asura file in a while] and so I'm trying to remember where I left off and check some things, mostly experimenting with the position of the bones, weight painting/skinning. I've been doing minor changes to the model itself as well to help with posing and with stuff looking better. Like moving the arms a bit, or making the fingers a little shorter, making the eyes look more half open instead of just small and making the torso less skinny [side view].
At the moment my biggest issue is with the shoulders! I'm not sure if my weights and bone positions are good enough and just need help from shapekeys/blendshapes, or if the foundation is not good enough for those yet. I'll have to do some more research and ask around!
December is the last month I'll be working on commissions, I'm pretty sure I'll finish everything so that I can do the shift towards Patreon and 3D in January as planned! But that also means December might be a bit dry as well.
I have some ideas too, like making sculpts like the Phobos one from October! And this time there could be polls for which character it will be each month. It's going to be pretty simple, and most likely just a bust, but that should be really fun and help me continue developing my sculpting skills while working on the more technical aspects of making a 3D character with the current Asura model [and soon the Sylvari one too.] Sculpting is the most fun part for me so I think this would be a good way to keep things interesting!
