October Render Previews

Here are some of the latest render previews of the sequences that have been rendered over the last few months! These are all mainly from the intro Alex had animated, which mainly consists of Space Hero arriving at Chloe's domain.

As our hero decides to take a moment to rest as the sun settles, he's overwhelmed by an approaching sandstorm. Unable to withstand it, he loses his consciousness in it. Little does he know that the storm will bring him right at Chloe's door step! :D

With the intro being almost fully rendered, we're slowly approaching the more interesting scenes of Space Hero meeting Chloe, of which Alex and me have already finished a good deal of animation on. We're currently on the second half of it, which leads right into the first nommy scene that still happens before the actual rooftop battle takes place.

I'm hoping to have the very first compilation of rendered scenes ready next month. This unfortunately won't include Chloe yet, but we're pretty close to getting there! At the end of this month I'm hoping to show another playblast of the meeting, while in November I have the first preview, as well as a playblast for the first nommy scene scheduled, which I'll be animating soon.

Unfortunately it takes just as much time to set these scenes up for rendering as it takes to animate these, which is why keeping up with everything has been a bit chaotic. I think if I didn't have Disregard helping then we'd still be stuck somewhere in the intro, so kudos to him! <3

These scenes look spectacular, great work on the landscapes and environments, I am truly feeling great euphoria about what this encounter will be like.

Man, look at those beautiful graphics, looking super duper awesome so far

Mike Vogel

So it's basically blinking all the time, given his luck. :P

Chris Teet

Super happy to hear that! Hope you're having a blast if you ever decide to get into animation! :D

Most certainly the rendering! The whole render preparation usually takes just as long as doing the character animation as well. This involves setting up dynamic elements (particles/fluids/smoke), lighting, and usually tweaking the materials a bit so they look as good as they can in a shot. For the rendering itself, rendering a single frame typically takes 10 - 20 minutes. Sometimes more when there's a lot of volumetric effects and/or fur. (:

Happy to hear you're excited! :D

Aye! More to come at the end of the month! (:

It's supposed to be a warning light that beeps to warn him from danger. (:

CakeInferno

Not a programmer sadly. :(

CakeInferno

These are some quality animations :3 Out of curiosity, what part takes longer, the animation or the rendering?

Charles J Burgess

VoreLover3

What is that blinking red light at the bottom of his visor supposed to be?

Chris Teet

I don't comment often (Or ever) but I always enjoy seeing amazing stuff like this and want to get into it. Please don't ever stop making wars content.
