Rendering!
Added 2018-01-16 20:51:02 +0000 UTCAfter a few additional days of optimizing work, today marks the first day of the rendering process! ETA is around two weeks, so here's hoping I'm able to wrap up the animation within that time. I'll keep you guys updated with new, polished playblasts in the meantime, most likely using the ones I showed earlier so I don't spoil the rest of the animation! (:

It must be a challenge to make that believable. I know you'll do it well though. If you like stretching your animations like that, I was wondering if you would ever want to do a giant snake vore video one day?

2018-01-17 18:56:50 +0000 UTCNote that it takes Pixar almost 30 hours to render a single frame in their recent animations, and that's with their elaborate render farm. My films can't of course reach the same visual quality, but nevertheless use a lot of the advanced visual features such as fur, global illumination, and subsurface scattering. Despite all of these heavy computing effects my render time per frame is only 5 minutes, and that's using a laptop. Two weeks for rendering 2800 frames at 4k resolution is extremely fast in computer animation.
