Something went wrong with Malisha

— "Hey! Malisha! Stop fooling around!" — John grabbed the girl roughly by the shoulders and shook her, gritting his teeth in irritation. Confusion was written in her eyes, and her lips were still naively parted, as if she didn’t understand what was happening. This only infuriated him more. She looked so... helpless, so childish. Her doll-like face with big eyes and perfectly styled hair, combined with a short, slightly too revealing dress, made her appear utterly unserious. It was as if he was dealing with a child, not a grown woman. And it drove him mad.

— "How many times do I have to repeat myself? You can’t just show up here and create scenes," — John hissed through clenched teeth, his voice trembling. He glanced at the closed office door, knowing full well that his employees had already seen her coming in, and that alone was bad enough.

Malisha whimpered, her lips trembled, and suddenly, she swayed as if losing balance. She pulled away from him and stammered in that soft, irritatingly delicate voice that had been grating on her nerves ever since she found herself in this ridiculous body.

— "I’m not Malisha! I’m your damn older brother, Frank! She did something, and..." — her voice sounded like a pathetic squeak. Her eyes were wide open, as if she herself was terrified of her own words. John froze, his brows furrowing and his jaw tightening.

— "Enough, Malisha! Have you gone completely crazy?!" — he growled. — "I don’t have an older brother!" His voice was threatening as he stepped forward, and she looked up at him fearfully. Never before had this little fool, whom the family had never taken seriously, seemed so strange to her. It was her company just yesterday, and John was just a slacker who hung out in bars. Malisha, his girlfriend, had tried to change that, wanting to make John the head of the company, but something went terribly wrong, and now Frank had become her. His whole life, Frank had seen his younger brother as a useless layabout who needed to be shielded and protected. But now, standing in front of him was a completely different person.

— "You... you have to believe me, John!" — her voice quivered, growing quieter. — "I’m not Malisha... I’m Frank! Damn it, this is all because of Malisha! She did something... to both of us!"

John clenched his teeth and quietly growled, — "Enough! We broke up, and I don’t want you stalking me anymore! I have a wife now, and you’re in the past!"

Frank—Malisha—froze in place, unable to believe what she’d just heard. Wife? What was he talking about? Was this slacker really married now? Her gaze fell on the desk, where a photo of John and... Alena! The very same Alena that Frank had been married to.

— "What... what kind of nonsense is this?!" — Malisha stammered, her voice dropping to almost a whisper. She felt like the ground was slipping from under her feet. This just couldn’t be true. She took a step back, her eyes locked on the photograph on the desk. John was embracing Alena, his lips stretched into a happy smile, and they looked so... perfect together. But that was impossible. Alena was her wife. Her, damn it, her wife!

— "What the hell is Alena doing in this photo with you?!" — she exclaimed loudly.

John only snorted, his gaze darkening with irritation.

— "What, jealous?" — he smirked, his lips curling, his eyes blazing with cold fury. — "Alena is my wife. We got married a month ago. You know this. Stop playing games, Malisha."

— "No..." — Malisha shook her head, her heart pounding wildly. — "That’s... that’s not true! She... she’s my wife! I was with her!" — her voice was growing increasingly desperate, but John just pressed his lips together, patiently waiting for her to finish her meaningless rambling.

— "Your wife?" — he burst out laughing, his voice dripping with contempt. — "Your wife?! Are you completely out of your mind, Malisha? Do you hear yourself?" — he took a step closer, his face contorted with rage. — "Get out of here and never come back, or I’ll call the police and tell them my ex is stalking me!"

— "You... you don’t understand," — Malisha’s voice trembled, tears streaming down her cheeks. Everything that remained of her former confidence, her masculinity, seemed to vanish. All she could see was John’s furious face and the pictures of Alena, who had once been hers and hers alone. — "I’m not your ex, damn it! I’m Frank! This... this is some kind of madness. You know this, John, you have to remember!" — her words were filled with desperation, her voice cracking, but John only crossed his arms over his chest, looking down at her with such cold disdain that it made everything inside her clench painfully.

— "Leave, Malisha," — his voice grew even quieter, and it sent shivers down her spine. — "Just leave and stop this charade, or you’ll regret it."

She lowered her gaze, still clinging to a shred of hope, and looked at John, but he was unwavering. With a sigh, she turned toward the door and paused for a moment, glancing over her shoulder, as if still hoping John would look at her differently, see in her the person she once was — the older brother who had always protected him. But he didn’t even blink. His face remained cold and detached, as if a complete stranger, an outsider, was standing before him.

Malisha closed her eyes, her hand gripping the door handle, and she yanked it down sharply. She was trembling, her heart pounding in her throat, but she straightened up and fought back the shivers. She wouldn’t let herself fall apart in front of this arrogant brat who now ran her company and thought himself a great boss.

— "You’ll regret this," — she whispered under her breath, but of course, John didn’t hear her. She closed the door behind her and stumbled blindly toward the exit. The whispers of her former employees and the curious, judgmental glances followed her every step. She wanted to turn around and scream at all of them, but what good would that do? All they saw was a woman — the very same Malisha, the boss’s ex-girlfriend, who now looked utterly humiliated.
