Now things are a bit different

I was sitting and thinking about gender stereotypes for a bit, and decided to have some fun by writing this. I know it’s not quite what I usually write, but I found it extremely amusing. This isn't a new concept, I’ve come across similar works before, but overall, what do you think of this, haha?

...

Bradley Cooper, a staunch sexist who firmly believed that women had no place behind the wheel, in business, or, heaven forbid, in politics, woke up that morning with an unusual feeling of anxiety. The world outside looked the same, but there was something subtly strange in the air. He got out of bed and, brushing off his unease, headed to the kitchen. Yet with each step, something deep inside him whispered: something was off.

His apartment seemed somehow tidier and cozier. Bradley frowned, scanning the kitchen. Everything was in its place, but it didn’t look quite the way he remembered. Pink napkins with floral designs adorned the table, and near the coffee maker, he noticed a small vase with flowers—something that definitely hadn’t been there the day before.

“What the hell?” he muttered, stepping closer.

A mirror with a decorative, glittery frame hung on the wall, something Bradley would never have put up in his bachelor pad. Everything felt wrong, not his. “Maybe my girlfriend dropped by?” he thought, but it all seemed too... delicate.

He poured himself a cup of coffee and glanced at his phone, but instead of the usual business news, his eyes caught headlines like: "How Men Handle Everyday Stress" and "Top Tips for Men: How to Look Stunning." Bradley blinked nervously and scrolled further. Everywhere he looked, there were articles clearly aimed at men, but in a strange, unfamiliar tone—as if their main goal was to be... beautiful and obedient?

“What the hell is this?” he muttered again, walking over to the closet and grabbing the first piece of clothing he could find. He nearly dropped his coffee when he opened the wardrobe. Instead of his usual shirts and pants, his eyes fell on... bright, tight-fitting sweaters, jeans with artificial rips, and even a few feminine-looking t-shirts with floral patterns. On the shelf where his boots used to be, there were now shoes and sneakers with flashy logos, as if they came straight from the women’s section of a store.

“Is this some kind of joke?” he thought, feeling the hair on the back of his neck stand up. Someone was pranking him. This couldn’t be real.

He quickly grabbed a shirt that looked somewhat neutral and threw it on. But finding pants was a challenge. Almost all of them were too tight, accentuating his figure in a way that didn’t seem right for a regular day. Finally, he found an old pair of sweatpants and hurried out of the apartment.

Outside, the oddities continued. Women walked with confidence, like bosses, while men moved quietly, even timidly, their behavior modest, their eyes avoiding direct contact. Every other woman seemed to be eyeing him strangely, as if... undressing him with her gaze. Some smiled back at him, and while he didn’t exactly mind, it was still bizarre. Very bizarre.

“Hey, babe, feeling lonely?” Bradley flinched at the sound of a rough female voice calling out to him. He turned to see a woman in a leather jacket, tall and confident, with a smirk on her face. She walked over, giving him an appraising look from head to toe, as if he were a product on display.

“What?” he mumbled, still trying to make sense of what was happening.

“You’re out without makeup?” she asked mockingly, raising an eyebrow and pulling back like she’d seen something shocking. “Seriously, dude? How could you step out like that? You look... well, unkempt!”

Bradley blinked in confusion, struggling to process her words.

“I don’t wear makeup,” he managed to say, his voice sounding firmer than he felt at that moment.

The woman laughed, but her laugh was dripping with sarcasm.

“Oh, you’re bold!” she said, shaking her head. “But with that attitude, good luck getting a job or a decent woman. Dude, you seriously need to rethink your look if you want to fit into this world.”

Then the women should match the theme too—short hair, not taking care of themselves, and so on =))

In theory, I could turn this into something more complete... add him long hair, nail polish, and pierced ears? Then show some workplace sexism, haha!

Haha, thanks. This is really just a 'test run'—I’ve never written anything like this before. But the idea amuses me a lot.

Excellent work! Too bad you didn’t have pictures to go with the story
