Best friend forever

Alice stood awkwardly in Sarah's room, her new body still feeling foreign and uncomfortable in the tight black leather leggings and pink crop top Sarah had insisted she wear. The heart-shaped belt accentuated her new curves, and the choker around her neck only made her feel more anxious and angry, a constant reminder of how wrong this all was.

"You look amazing, Allie! I can't believe you're finally going on a date with Josh!" Sarah beamed at her friend, completely oblivious to how she was feeling.

But the truth is, Alice just wanted to disappear. Wanted her life to go back to the way it was before her ill-advised spellcasting experimentation. She just wanted to be with Sarah as her boyfriend, not some girly girl she was expected to be to impress Josh. It was too much. But the spell worked perfectly, Alice just misunderstood the meaning of the spell, which was intended to become a true 'Best Friend' with the target person.

Adjusting the straps of her crop top, Alice felt her chest bounce slightly, which only fueled her anger. "I don't want to go on a date with Josh. I'm not supposed to be...this!" she snapped, her voice higher and softer than she intended.

"Pfft! Dont't be silly, Allie! Josh is cute and obviously smitten by you." Sarah replied dismissively looking at her manicured nails and snortin in a funny way.

Anger wanted to scream, to make Sarah understand the truth, but she knew it was hopeless. The spell had altered reality itself, making everyone believe she's always been Alice and not Alex. Her entire life is fake now.

"Fine," She muttered, pulling on the sweater and trying unsuccessfully to squash the butterflies in her stomach from this whole situation. "Let's just end this shit, please."

As she turned to leave, Sarah jumped up and hugged her tightly. "You're the cutest girl I've ever seen! You'll have a great time, I promise. And if Josh isn't perfect, we'll figure something out. Just trust me, okay?"

After Sarah finished hugging, she gently grabbed Alice's cheek, hinting to her friend not to mess things up, caused Alice to shiver internally and show a fake smile. "Yeah, sure..."

"Best friends!" Sarah beamed. She kissed Alice on the cheek and she walked ahead towards Josh's car, muttering quietly in response "Best friends forever..."
