Announcement, Backlog, and Schedule

Monarch Book 3: Whitefall, is available for pre-order on Kindle Unlimited and Audible for a July 5th release.

We actually made it.

Finishing this book took a lot out of me, so I genuinely hope you all have enjoyed the increased publishing speed of the last few chapters and most of the content. Because of how tight the deadline was once I finally regained momentum, it’s been actively edited while I wrote it, basically sending each chapter to an editor piecemeal as it was completed, so you’ll see significant improvements in the final text. It was my intention to cover the entirety of Cairn’s homecoming comprehensively in this book, but I was faced with either severely abridging my outline or expanding the text another 75k words, which would be well above the publisher’s target. And considering the importance of that next 75k words to the story at large, I decided to do the latter.

While it still came down to the wire, you’ll have until June 26th to read the chapters here on (Patreon | Royal Road).

Schedule / Backlog

As for the time it took to get here, I can only apologize. Writing two stories simultaneously was far more difficult to adapt to than I expected, and while the every-other-day rotation was working initially, there were problems with it, and bleed-over was more of an issue than I thought it would be. Before I got shivved by deadlines, I finally found a schedule that was working, so I’ll go over that now.

There will be a brief break—before you run away screaming, I do mean brief. I’m in the middle of a week off. Next week I’ll be starting the backlog for Double-Blind, and posting it here the week after while I do the same for Monarch. Writing enough chapters to cover two weeks and rotating which story I was writing every week seemed to work best, and I’ll be keeping that up for the foreseeable future.

Ideally, with the word counts I’m targeting, that will translate to 4-5 chapters a week and a finished book every four months, unless one goes particularly long.

Sorry it took me so long to figure it out.

I know how to write, but I’m still learning how to be a writer.
