Enclave Post Mortem and Thoughts Going Forward

Well. That was a trip.

First of all, if you stuck around, thank you for letting me tell a thriller/whodunnit in the middle of what has been mostly a progression fantasy story. It was a lot of fun. Still, I’ve learned some lessons:

— Arcs this long aren’t the greatest for web-serial format

— Self-contained mysteries are /hard/ to write.

You’ve probably gotten an inkling of what Monarch is now between the three arcs I have written. I’m trying my best to approach each arc like a self-contained novel, with some mild genre shifting in between. There will be arcs that end on a high (everwood) and arcs that end on a low (enclave, sort of), but I’m going to do my best to balance them so we don’t swing too far in either direction.

I have much more straightforward plans for the next arc. A lot of reader favorites will be back in a big way, and though I don’t want to give away what sort of an arc it is, if you liked the first few arcs, I’m pretty sure you’ll also like this one.

Thanks for reading.

Hmm... genre shifting between major arks. I wonder who made that one famous. Couldn’t have been the first mangaka to have his art displayed in the Louvre. (Correct me if I am wrong though.

Thank you for writing. I really enjoy your take on the whole time loop! Well done! Bravissimo!
