Drum Patterns Explained: Depeche Mode

Our new video is out! Get yourself a good dose of Depeche Mode and join us as we escalate quickly from a simple yet functional drum pattern to a full-fledged layering nightmare. We had so much fun with the jams again and this time I even got to dust off my electric guitar! We're very happy with the results and there are a lot of useful techniques in the video :)

We also got an indirect compliment from the YouTube algorithm: Apparently at least one of our jams was mistaken for the original. This means instant demonetization, but thanks to your continued support we don't have to make any compromises here ❤️

Attached to this post you'll find the promised sample pack with sounds we made for this video: Vermona DRM-1 drums, Disco Laser Zaps and some triplet breathing in 130 BPM ;)

For your convenience here's the list of all drum pattern transcriptions featured in the video:

I really loved how you showed three different levels of difficulty. I think I'm at level 2 but now I can see how I might get to level 3!

Unfortunately it is still a one-off at the moment ;)

Just amazing work by you both as usual. Every time I watch I'm inspired to put more care into my drum sequencing, and you give such good technique breakdowns. Thank you!

Superb deconstruction of my favourite DM tracks. Your videos just keep getting better and better, such detail, creative interpretation and I love the production values. Great work Captain.
