Rhythm Training - level up your skills for creating, analyzing and transcribing beats

Hello everyone! Today we want to introduce a potential new format to you: Captain Pikant's Rhythm Workout. In there we feature different kinds of rhythm exercises on a 16 step sequencer grid. For the first episode we created some beginner-friendly ones which we think are an excellent training for transcribing drum patterns and creating your own beats - in fact programming anything with a 16 step sequencer, whether it be drum machines, synths, grooveboxes or the MIDI grid in your DAW.

This video is of course only a first step and we'd love to hear your feedback so we know whether we should make more episodes in the future.

Hi Liam, thanks for your comment! We absolutely agree, that's something that's sorely missing. We're working on a few concepts right now on how we can change that :)

just revisited this one - love it! And I wish there were more! Just thinking out loud here - I would love to have a more structured approach to growing my skillset on a drum machine, the same way students learn how to play guitar or piano. There are approximately 1 million articles with the premise "Learn how to play guitar like Steve Vai" but 0 with the premise "Learn how to play the 909 like Jeff Mills." There's lots on programming and composition, but not a lot (anything?) on exercises/drills to grow technically (and really "play" the drum machine like an instrument). Should note your breakdown of Exhibitionist Mix is great, but I mean more building up the ability to sequence stuff on the fly in such a fluent way.

Yes, the RDJ reverence is on point. I knew I came to the right place.
